A Strategic Buyer for Direct Materials performs procurement of products as well as in internal projects in compliance with Siemens Energy procurement procedures. Further Purpose of a Senior Buyer is to foster risk awareness, contractual knowledge, and interpersonal management in bid / execution projects as well as in strategic procurement tasks.

How you'll make an impact:

• Secure correct authorization of procurement relevant documents according to valid signature mandates.
• Define and implement procurement strategies to ensure long-term and cost-effective supply of materials and services within defined commodities.
• Negotiate supplier (frame) agreements.
• Develop and maintain supplier network in assigned commodities.
• Plan and execute supplier management in assigned commodities, including supplier qualification and evaluation measures and ensure compliance with Siemens Energy procurement policies and Business Conduct Guidelines (BCG).
• Execute bid evaluation, contract award and expediting of assigned procurement packages.
• Collaborate closely with all procurement stakeholders, such as Offer Management, Purchaser, Logistics Officer, Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), etc.
• Contribute to defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the regional and global Supply Chain Management organization.

What you bring:

• Minimum 5 years' experience within procurement and bachelor's degree in economy and/or engineering.
• Experienced in project procurement from start-up to close-out. Well experienced in supplier management. Experience in inter-disciplinary work within an engineering environment is an advantage.
• Experience in functional lead of Buyers and / or Purchasers is an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in working in an intercultural environment, especially in terms of project collaboration and contract negotiations.
• Technical knowledge of electrical equipment (motors, generators, transformers, switchgears and/or drives solutions) is an advantage.
• English communication skills
• German communication skills is an advantage.
• Occasional travels must be expected for this position.
