    Job Description:

    The Category Purchaser is actively supporting the Continental locations in the definition of the supply strategy and negotiation with suppliers to achieve best commercial conditions for Continental.

    * Drives and supports project negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of all locations of Continental Automotive in region Romania-Hungary-Serbia.
    * Actively influences the sourcing process during development phase by:

    1 Alignment with purchasing management and project team;
    2 Negotiation of prices, commercial terms and closure of legally binding contracts for projects; above 100.000 i (including face-to-face negotiation)
    3 Supplier selection.

    * Meets engineering teams and management in their locations: ensures early involvement in the project and keeps customer focus.
    * Conducts market analysis.
    * Development of the suppliers from the region (including supplier visits).
    * Tracks improvement programs with suppliers.
    * Conducts market analysis.
    * Supports the project team by troubleshooting and escalation at supplier.
    * Contributes to the yearly supplier strategy in the region.
    * Ensures that Continental's Category strategy is respected by the locations.
    * Ensures alignment of purchasing activities with corporate guideline and fulfills compliance requirements.


    Job Requirements:

    * University degree in Economics, Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering;
    * Several years of professional experience in purchasing preferably within the Automotive Industry;
    * Fluent Business English;
    * German knowledge is an advantage;
    * Advanced knowledge of MS Office package programs;
    * Stress resistance, conflict resolution abilities, assertiveness;
    * Intercultural sensitivity besides good networking and communication skills;
    * Ready to travel by car (max 25% from time).
