DATA BASE ADMINISTRATOR

OLAmobile is a global mobile performance company specialized in User Acquisition focused on CPA (Cost per Acquisition) and CPI (Cost per Install) mobile campaigns. Headquartered in Luxembourg, with offices in Portugal and Romania.

Education and Training:

- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.

Professional Experience:
- 8 or more years of working experience in Relational DBMS Administration/ Engineering (preferably MySQL) on production environment, supporting complex, highly available OLTP databases;
- Experience in tuning database server configurations, queries and indexes.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in any of the scripting languages (e.g. Python/ PHP/ Perl/ Ruby and SQL);
- Exposure to any NoSQL solutions (Mongo is a big plus but any other NoSQL will also apply);
- Good understanding of the Operating System concepts, mainly Linux;
- Experience in remotely managing Linux servers via command line tools;
- Well-versed in HA strategies, including database replication, fail over clustering, database mirroring and log shipping;
- Experienced in the creation and implementation of full proof DR plans – including backup and recovery;
- Skilled in database server performance monitoring and storage performance optimization;
- Working experience on Amazon Web Services is a plus.

Responsibilities/ Tasks
Assure database optimal performance:

- Design and map the database architecture;
- Assure that data remains consistent across the database;
- Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide optimal responses to users;
- Develop, manage and test security, back-up and recovery plans;
- Implement a fail over solution;
- Automate regular Database/ OS administrative work with other support teams and ensure they are functioning correctly;
- Plan and execute tests of fault tolerance capabilities, including backup/ recovery, replication, fail over and disaster recovery;
- Participate in the creation and refinement of staging & production database instances;
- Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and data dictionary definitions.

Collaborate/ support the IT teams:
- Collaborate with the Technical team in order to optimize queries, designs and SQL performance;
- Provide support to the operations teams;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for advanced level troubleshooting and perform hands-on Database/ System administration as required;
- Collaborate with application developers to evolve the database architecture and design.
