    Overview

    We are excited to be on the look out for an analytically and intellectually curious individual, self-starter and leader with a broad engineering background, and excellent written, visual and verbal communication skills to join the CTO Technology Strategy team.

    The role will report into the Head of Technology Strategy. This is a high visibility role, requiring interaction with the LSEG Technology Leadership Team and close collaboration with technology leaders across the Group to drive a broad agenda of technology strategy in pursuit of achieving the transformational technology goals for the London Stock Exchange Group.

    The Technology Strategy team is responsible for managing the medium- to long-term technology vision and strategic actions across a diverse set of technology topics - including Group-wide use of Technologies and Tooling, Technology Operating Model, Solution Architecture and Design - through close engagement with divisional technology functions.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Manage and produce Group strategy deliverables
      • Chips in to, and leads on elements of key strategy initiatives including creation and review of strategy materials, communications artefacts and planning.
      • Technology strategy initiatives are diverse and will include Tools and Technologies; Operating Model; Architecture and Design;
      • Able to effectively diagnose a situation, develop an overall approach and produce a set of coherent actions
      • Builds high quality, engaging and impactful output, including detailing strategy (presentations, whitepapers and blogs), data models, and other outputs to communicate findings and course of action.
      • Manages and continually improves strategy processes to support the organization in developing, understanding and implementing strategy.

    • Develop and run initiatives and projects across the divisions:
      • Plays a leading role in complex analytical and problem-solving, including scenario modelling, data manipulation, application of logic and testing of hypotheses when data is incomplete, using one's own judgement to make recommendations.
      • Engages with partners across the broader Group technology function to develop insights, gather opinions and reach consensus.
      • Handles multiple concurrent projects keeping partners updated and timelines on track, including the management of projects from concept through to delivery.
      • Delivers unique ideas and insight that help advise, shape and progress the strategic direction and priorities of the Group.
      • Gets hands-on with engineering, to understand the capabilities and constraints of new and emerging solutions

    • Develop relationships with key partners and represent the Technology Strategy function across LSEG
      • Develops and maintains co-operative partnerships with key internal and external partners across Technology Divisions, Procurement, Finance, FP&A and with the Corporate Strategy function.
      • Represents LSEG Strategy on relevant forums and committees, and in communities where strategic advice or support is required.
      • Cultivate and nurture communities around specific strategic topics.
      • Represents LSEG as required through relevant external engagements including strategic customer discussions, advisory board meetings and events.

    Required Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical field
    • Minimum 10 years confirmed experience working across multiple technology fields - including technology strategy, architecture, software engineering, operations, cloud or on-premise infrastructure related work experience
    • Modelling in MS Excel, PowerBI, or similar tools
    • Advanced MS PowerPoint skills, incorporating visual representation of complex topics that "pop".
    • Advanced skills in writing compelling strategic narrative
    • Financial services background a plus

    • Hands-on Engineering:
      • Able to get solutions up-and-running for evaluation, often with immature documentation
      • Engineering experience across the DevOps lifecycle - design, development and operations
      • Strong understanding of how and where automation can be used
    • Thought leadership and problem-solving:
      • Critical thinking and ability to tackle complex problems in a structured manner
      • Credibility as an inspiring leader and partner based on a track record of successfully advising and constructively challenging senior technology and business leaders
    • Strategy management:
      • Experience of conducting market landscape assessments and developing Group and/or business unit strategies
      • Ability to develop clear and pragmatic recommendations and plans
      • Ability to solve complex problems which often are multi-disciplinary, requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple variables and options where this is no "right answer" and achieve consensus on a pragmatic path forwards.
      • Ability to link vision to action, measuring strategic impact to LSEG
    • Communication:
      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
      • Experience of preparing executive briefings and reports
    • Collaborators engagement and influencing:
      • Ability to reach across an organization to bring the right expertise and diversity of perspectives together, adopting a range of operating models with different partners based on context and business need.
      • Ability to influence executives with insight and respect.
