Senior Buyer

As a Senior Buyer, your daily tasks will include:

• Prepare and conclude sourcing contracts based on customer requirements at the most beneficial conditions whilst ensuring quality and on-time delivery.
• Develop and deliver procurement Strategy for allocated Commodities/Projects, issue RFQ's, conduct negotiation with suppliers, drive the selection process and raise/issue Purchase orders in accordance with Procurement Procedures, to meet objectives.
• Will act as Commodity leader for specified ???key" commodities, in line with experience, with the objective of securing best value solutions for Siemens Energy
• Ensure employees comply with the Corporate Procurement policies and strategic Procurement initiatives and ensure full compliance with any business requirements

• Source, assess, develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure short term Project objectives and long-term company objectives.
• Keep the Project Team aware of market trends relevant to their business and contribute to inter-departmental relationships by providing information and advice as necessary.
• Support opportunities to maximise the benefits of e-Business solutions, SAP functionality and the introduction and implementation of new initiatives.
• Play an active role in the tendering process on category and promote good working relationships with existing and new Suppliers to establish long term relationships.
• Proactively identify and raise awareness of potential supply chain risks and instigate actions to mitigate within the business.
• Lead supplier development on identified key commodities and act as Commodity Leader for specific commodities.
• Support the implementation of specific B.I. Programmes.
• Develop a Procurement strategy to provide structured & professional support to the commercial / tendering managers in the selection and negotiation of ???Suppliers / Subcontractors'.
• Responsible for the maintenance of key Procurement data.
• Responsible for provision of key Procurement documents including Procurement Plan, Bid Comparison and NSR on allocated projects.
• Actively support the Procurement Managers objectives to ensure the goals of the organisation are delivered and deputise for the Project Procurement Manager, as required.

• Proven experience in a procurement department.
• Commercial / contractual experience in negotiating Terms and Conditions for:
• Strong knowledge of purchasing techniques and skills associated with the procurement of manufacturing and project equipment and services.
• A sound knowledge of contract law, with practical experience of their application to procurement projects.
• Good knowledge of Industry specific products & Technologies
• Experience and knowledge of project work in a related business.
• Excellent IT skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Good knowledge of SAP, preferably R/3
• Able to communicate clearly, both orally and written, with people at all levels, both internal and external to Siemens Energy.
