    Overview

    We are forming a new team in Bucharest for Post Trade Shared Services to provide cloud engineering and data platform services. These enable all groups across Post Trade to onboard and consume data services for Market Data & Data Warehousing and Analytics capabilities.

    The role is a Senior Manager / Engineering Lead responsible for the core engineering leadership and dedicated focus on the Cloud infrastructure, DevOps, QA, Application and Data engineering capabilities. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of developing expertise in platform engineering concepts, practices and procedures, and implementation of technology solutions.

    We are looking for a senior lead that can guide teams regarding cloud & data solution design and architecture. You will act as a key member of the Cloud & Data Engineering Community, work with the product teams to design and implement modern, scalable data solutions. We are using an exciting range of new and emerging technologies driving innovation in the data space. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of a team building and evolving a strategic platform for Post Trade.

    You will play a significant part of the overall Shared Services Data Services leadership team in an agile team set up.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Technical leadership and management the core Data Platform, Cloud & DevOps engineering team.
    • Continuously improve foundational services such as, cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure), data engineering & analytics capabilities. In addition, application development, DevOps, QA for established Market Data Services.
    • Working closely as part of leadership team, shared service engineering and Post Trade wide development teams.
    • Lead recruitment and development of staff within the Bucharest Shared Service team, and inclusive approches from junior staff development to supporting expert engineers
    • As a senior technology leader, ensure industry standard process is being embraced in terms of Infrastructure Architecture; Continuous Delivery and Integration; Deployment; Security; 3rd-level Support and Test automation.
    • Work closely with Architecture, Enterprise Engineering and the Information Security teams to implement in line with group standards for implementation Cloud services..
    • Play an active part in the continuous improvement of quality processes and standards to ensure that the global organisation provides efficient, high quality and cost-effective solution development that supports an iterative development methodology and a complex business.
    • Advocate modern, agile software development & cloud engineering practices and actively participate overall engineering leadership across Shared Services and Bucharest teams
    • Development of Cloud infrastructure, resiliency, security, monitoring, server management, data pipelines and regular releases across the platform, supporting many tenants, in a federated model targeting self service.

    Required Skills

    • Proven experience of hands-on technical and functional recommendations to design, maintenance, build, integration, & testing of solutions
    • Strong software development background and history of forming teams to work in agile practices to delivering highly available and resilient applications and infrastructures.
    • Experienced team lead with good people leadership skills, able to recruit & develop a successful team. We are focussed on inclusive and diversity to help nurture the best team and working culture
    • 5+ years experience in implementing Cloud services & Cloud automation processes (AWS primary, Azure a plus)
    • Experience building/ enhancing continuous delivery and continuous integration services and passion for infrastructure as code and associated automation and provisioning tools.
    • Extensive knowledge on AWS Cloud services/components: EC2, VPC, SNS, Lambda, API Gateway, STS, IAM roles, KMS, Route53, writing IoC in Terraform,
    • Expertise and interest in Data Engineering inc. Python, SQL, data APIs
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an IT related subject area

    Nice to have

    • Relevant experience with Data Lake/ Warehouse/ Analytics solutions on Cloud, i.e Snowflake
    • Knowledge or experience in working with and developing middleware services (SNS/SQS) for Azure or AWS
    • Experience with API gateway, Spark, Kafka and other programming languages: Java; . Net, C++
