    Overview

    The Senior PR Specialist, plays an integral role in supporting the branding and promotion of the Data & Analytics (D&A) division of LSEG, working closely with the Communications Director of D&A. The individual leads the promotion of data, research, indices, reports and expertise from the company assets such as, but not limited to, FTSE Russell, Lipper, StarMine, Banking & Research, Extel, EMSR and MMD. The Senior PR Specialist will need to be able to understand key financial trends, issues and details across a range of industry sectors and financial instruments.

    The successful candidate will also possess analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret complex data and analysis into straight forward messages and analysis for the media. Speed, accuracy, presentation are key attributes given that the data will have a short life span and media call with very late requests that need to be filled immediately. The role's tasks include writing and editing news releases, media pitches and research reports; liaising with media/data teams on requests; proactively identifying editorial opportunities covering print and broadcast; assembling media lists; tracking coverage; producing media coverage reports; utilizing all channels including social media; working across time zones with a global team.

    Key Responsibilities

    Working closely with global PR counterparts to ensure consistent and appropriate messaging, as well as help implement a comprehensive data attribution plan that raises brand awareness, displaces competitors and supports the company's overall business goals

    Working with our analysts and our industry-leading data, finding interesting stories for the media and responding to incoming media requests as part of a busy global press office

    Handling incoming media inquiries as part of a busy press office
    Writing and editing reports, media materials, briefs and media audits
    Assembling media lists and cultivating strong media relations

    Tracking media coverage
    Planning and executing PR campaigns

    Required Skills


    Experience working with media and appreciation for deadlines

    As well as working on external communications for D&A, the candidate will also be expected to support with some internal communications initiatives.

    PR experience within an agency or in-house PR role; news or financial background preferred.

    Bachelors degree (finance, economics, communications or public relations degree preferred)
