    Role description: To drive the technical implementation of a Securities Clearing project to provide near real data via web services to a GUI hosted at present on a private cloud but in the future to a public cloud. Team description: Securities Clearing Development is responsible for the development and maintenance of Fixed Income Clearing Systems; London and Paris. Department description: Securities Clearing is part of LCH Clearing Department which is responsible for clearing a number of products of the International Financial Markets E.g. Cash Equities, Fixed Income, Forex, Swaps, CDS etc. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Web Services Developer, you will work closely with your colleagues and your responsibilities will be to: Actively drive the development of Securities Clearing systems project to provide near real time data to a GUI which resides on a private cloud at present but public cloud in the future Full life cycle development of web services interfacing to the cloud (On and Off Prem) Required to support the application outside of business hours (Overnight support) IT Skills and Work Experience Min 4 years' experience in developing web services using Java and Springboot with JSON API Significant experience in developing web services reading data from different data sources e.g. flat files, relational DB (ideally Sybase,PostgreSQL or Snowflake) Experience with setting up and working with automated unit testing Experience of establishing and working with a CI/CD pipeline Min 2 years experience using SQL: stored procedures, database design of relational databases using Sybase, Oracle, PostgreSQLetc Experience of working with Star Schema DB is highly desirable Experience of deep dive analysis of issues Experience of developing in an Agile and Waterfall framework. Experience of GIT, BladeLogic, Ansible, Jenkins, Hashicorp Vault, XML. Experience of any of the following would be desirable: NUnit, SOAP, Weblogic, Infragistics, SVN, Symphony, Python, Rational Quantify, JSP, Tomcat, ERWin, Java mail API, TDD, BDD Education Degree in computer Science or related area Soft skills Highly developed inter-personal skills High energy, motivated individual committed to excellence Excellent communication skills Excellent skills in English (written and oral) Result orientated Excellent Analytical skills Negotiation skills Ability to work in a team environment, whilst at the same time achieving set business goals We maximise each employee's potential through personal development and through a wide range of learning tools both formal and informal.
