Lead Technical Specialist
Manages, researches, and recommends external and internal tools and applications. Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution. Develops functional specifications and system design specifications for client engagements. Serves as an expert or liaison for technology issues. Leads or works on multiple projects with varying levels of complexity and acts as oversight and escalation of lower levels. May mentor individuals within the group. Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and client mindsets. ENGINEERING: Participates in project planning sessions with business analysts and team members to analyze requirements and provides design recommendations for complex systems. Works with project teams to define and design scope for each project. Evaluates and makes recommendations for buy versus build decisions. Works closely with planning and technology architect to assure all systems are in line with IT long term strategy. Provides design recommendations, develops application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces. Responsible for writing complex design specifications. Translates business and technical requirements into cross-functional business application systems, providing custom integration solutions including major system enhancements. Collaborates in setting development guidelines. Makes complex modifications to existing software applications in accordance with high level specifications and industry standards. Reviews effort to ensure compliance to application architecture standards. Develops new cross-functional software systems using disciplined software development processes. Carries out unit testing and implements cross functional systems ensuring system meets needs of client and business. Researches new and emerging technologies. Evaluates and makes recommendations for new tools, technologies and platforms to be implemented. Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application development teams.
INFORMATION SECURITY: Manages and evaluates corporate security and mitigates risks associated with confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Company's information assets. Oversees and approves technical requirements for new IT security solutions; implementing and delegating as required. Daily overview and assessment of exceptions identified from review of system, application logs and custom monitoring tools, alert, and usage based events, and follow up as necessary. Performs and evaluates application security reviews on an ongoing basis using industry standard tools. Identifies department's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement. Keep abreast of, understand, and analyze security trends, issues, technology and business environment. Reviews change management requests for security relevance and impact, and suggests potential solutions. Communicates needed changes and potential risk to development team and leadership as needed. Promote awareness and education of security matters. Understand the organizations technical security policies, the code of business conduct and ethics in order to translate into requirements for technical and non-technical staff.
IT AUDIT & COMPLIANCE: Coordinates, plans, and executes information technology compliance and regulatory audits. Executes and manages all aspects of audit efforts including planning, preparation, audit reports, fieldwork, and follow-up activities. Participates in risk mitigation sessions for new projects or processes and ensure that all significant regulatory risks are identified and accounted for appropriately. Evaluates remediation plans and provide consultative support as to the interpretation of regulations and their implementation. Maintains position as a subject matter expert in current and new compliance laws and best practices. Tracks and follows up on remediation efforts from issues identified in the audit process. Makes recommendation for the resolution of issues identified in the audit process. Leads small project teams for audits that range from simple to complex. Identifies compliance risks that need to be addressed. Rate issues based upon the level of risk to facilitate prioritization. Facilitates the organization's compliance awareness and understanding of business impact. Responds to inquiries about the Company's compliance status and controls. Communicates and presents audit results to control owners and management. Prepares and delivers presentations for control owners and management. Promote awareness and education of security matters. Understand the organizations technical security policies, the code of business conduct and ethics in order to translate into requirements for technical and non-technical staff. Researches, interprets, develops, maintains, and applies compliance regulations and control descriptions. Develops and provides controls, standards, process improvement recommendations, technical guidance and awareness on compliance and information security practices.
Knowledge & Skill :
o Specialist, experienced professional with extensive knowledge and skills gained through wide-ranging experiences in a JAVA, AWS and Agile methodologies that requires diverse practices or procedures.
o Deep knowledge of JAVA, AWS
o In-depth understanding of a complex software design patterns, algorithms.
o Works on issues of a diverse scope where analysis of situations requires skills and understanding of current industry trends
