    The Index Data Processing Platform (IDPS) is a program whose main purpose is to drive improvements across data collection, data management and data governance resulting in improved efficiencies, robustness, and the ability for our business to use our data as an asset by driving both cost savings and revenue opportunities.     Role Description:
    • We are looking to fill a, AWS Engineer role - this person will play an integral role in the ongoing design and build of the ISD Data Platform. You will be involved in and responsible for design, development, integration, enhancements and maintenance of the data platform which will span a broad range of data and functionality using SAP workloads on an AWS Platform. You will be responsible for establishing consistent processes and programs that empowers SAP to develop and deliver high quality products quickly. This position requires an innovative and motivated individual who, under general direction but with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to perform necessary AWS design and build tasks as well as make recommendations to meet the customer's requirements. While constantly driving innovation and working on complex technical challenges every day, this team member will provide subject matter expertise and technical direction, work closely with business users, BAs, PO's, PMs and other team members to understand business requirements, design and develop quality technical & data solutions that are aligned with the business and Platform strategies while ensuring compliance with the organization's architectural and coding standards. In this role, the AWS Engineer will also be responsible for helping to troubleshoot complex support issues on an as needed basis. This role will be based in Fort Mill, SC on the Information Services Technology Team.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Design, development, deliver and maintain data solutions based on the latest cloud data technologies
    • Make recommendations on technical architecture design and solution to ensure it aligns with technology best practices
    • Provide expertise for the team in all matters related to AWS setup, maintenance, deployment, build and release processes
    • Build and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and secure code based on User Stories
    • Working within a multi-functional agile team, develop enterprise software, adhering to company standards and established software methodology
    • Participate in planning, implementation, and growth of the infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud
    • Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code
    • Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
    • Create new and maintain existing scripts by evaluating and improving existing code
    • Architect extensions to SAP processes leveraging AWS platform services for simplicity, massive scale, resiliency and maintainability
    • Working on integrating a wide range of innovative AWS services with SAP on AWS
    • Creating service offerings that will promote adoption of AWS services
    • Develop a platform that seamlessly integrates various AWS services with SAP on AWS systems to provide a holistic solution
    • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management
    • Develop and monitor metrics and develop ways to improve solutions
    • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration standards for SAP and other enterprise solutions on AWS
    • Help bridge the technical and analytics worlds, breaking down complex problems into concrete actions
    • Assemble extensive, complex data that meet functional/non-functional business requirements
    • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing transformation for greater scalability, etc.
    • Use the infrastructure/services required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS services.
    • Create data for analytics
    • Work with stakeholders, including the Product, Data, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data requirement needs
    • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture in AWS
    • Keep our data separated and secure across boundaries through multiple AWS regions
    • Document the unit and regression test results and fix issues
    • Support system testing and integration testing activities
    • Be accountable for consistency and development best practices across project teams
    • Help to manage data as a critical asset across all of the organization's business functions
    • Work together with developers, business analysts and product owners to ensure that new or modified data applications are designed and developed using industry standard best practice design and development practices
    • Drive modern data design patterns, project methodologies and ability to design and document complex data architectures from concept through deployment
    • Work closely with technical team members to ensure technical knowledge is maintained and that project work can be accurately scoped
    • Provide thought leadership on data processes and how implementation of these can improve the ongoing effectiveness and accuracy of data
    • Identify key functional risks and issues ensuring mitigation plans are identified and project leadership is aware of implications
    • Provide proactive leadership around continuous process improvement and process adherence
    • Design and develop optimal code to maintain exceptional performance in processing large volumes of data across diverse sources

    Work Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in development and operations, or related IT, computer, or operations field
    • Experience with Amazon Web Services and architecting SAP solutions on AWS
    • Experience using AWS Cloud services in production across a wide variety of application types
    • Experience with API driven solutions for internal/external business processes
    • Industry experience as a Data Engineer or related specialty (e.g., Software Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Scientist) with a track record of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets
    • Must have experience working on Spark/Scala, Kafka, Elasticsearch and Python (at least two)
    • Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements
    • Experience with Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, ELK and deploying applications on AWS
    • Experience with AWS cloud services: (Lambda, Redshift, RDS, ECS/EKS, IAM, API Gateway, EMR, Kinesis, S3, Glue, DMS-Batch/CDC, Athena, EC2, SQS, SNS etc.)
    • Experience of SQL and database
    • Experience working on AWS Data Pipeline and CI/CD processes
    • Familiar with data quality automation
    • Experience with software development, infrastructure development, or development and operations
    • Experience with Linux & Windows infrastructures, database SQL & NoSQL, CI/CD tools, Configuration Management, development languages like Go, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, .NET,
    • Experience with Public Cloud technology (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP)
    • Deep technical skills in both SAP solutions and cloud computing
    • Experience with SAP migrations and upgrades with SAP High Availability Architectures a plus
    • Experience and deep knowledge of SAP systems (SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP NetWeaver/BASIS Administration, SAP sizing, etc.) a plus

    Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional level
    • Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently

    IT Skills:

    • Experience with complex business projects
    • Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and the implications of those requirements on current and future roadmaps
    • Understanding, at a detailed level, of all architectural dependencies of technologies in IT environments
    • Demonstrated behaviors of a curious, logical thinker and a strong systems aptitude
    • Proven ability to make and drive solution decisions
    • Experience with data migrations and coordination in a cross-project management team and business functions
    • Expertise with Data integration tools (including ETL and data replication tools)
    • Continuous Integration and source control

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills
    • Able to self-manage and work independently in a fast-paced environment with dynamic requirements and priorities
    • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
    • Agile development processes (SCRUM and Kanban)
    • Experience with Jira a plus
    • Strong bias for action and ownership
