IBM Internship - Database Administrator - Oracle Database

IBM Client Innovation Center Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) was established in 2012 by joining several centers in Europe. The Delivery Center is part of a global network of 80 similar centers and uses the best IBM methods of work, global processes and techniques. The center has achieved CMMI Level 5 (Capability Maturity Model Integration) and its mission is to provide customers with software solution customized to their global business needs.

- Technical IT bachelor's degree (last year or finished for not more than 3 years)
- 0.5+ years experience with Oracle database (installing, configuring, upgrading, performance troubleshooting)
- basic Oracle DB monitoring knowledge (performance monitoring, schema administration, object creation, database user creationaltering, etc.), implementing backup strategies using RMAN,data pump; developing and implementing security strategies for controlling access to data stored in Oracle database;
- basic SQL knowledge - accesing database objects, creatingaltering objects based on developed s;
- Can prove similar experience with at least 1 relevant project in the same position
- basic operating Linux OS skills
- English Language: Advanced

This position involves supporting the Oracle databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security.


Duties and Responsibilities

-Provide exceptional customer service through quality consistent execution
-Continue to improve our operating efficiencies through automation
-Reduce client SLA misses (Availability, Response and Resolution)
-Continue to document quality SOPs for the purpose of knowledge sharing and business control compliance
-Achieve 98% overall success rate for production changes
-Improve identification and resolution timeframe of chronic problems
-Assist to analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements
-Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency
-Monitor systems and platforms for availability.
-Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover
-Restore and recover corrupted databases
-Install and test upgrades and patches
-Ensure quality SR documentation
-Ensure run books are updated on periodic basis

Ideally the candidate should also:
- A good knowledge of the physical database design
- have technicalhands on knowdlege about Oracle RAC(Real Application Cluster) and DataGuard (database replication);
- Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (OEM)
- Oracle DBA certifications are a plus
