    PRODUCTION MANAGER Plastic recycling LOCATION: Dascalu, Ilfov THE COMPANY: Our client is an international preforms made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) products manufacturer with 9 production units across Europe and USA, who serves customers in the food, drinks and non-food sectors. The company is planning a 30% expansion of its factory in northern Bucharest, Romania, with a €3 million investment. This expansion includes a new PET recycled granule production line. The goal is to produce PET granules from recycled plastic materials for use in sterile containers for the food industry. The factory currently has ~65 employees, and this expansion could lead to more job opportunities in the future. THE ROLE: To support our client’s extension plans, we are looking for a Production Manager who will the link between the management and  employees. You manage the entire extrusion team (warehouse, production, technical team) and work closely with quality. You bear the final responsibility for the complete extrusion plant with a shift system.

    • Identify customer requirements and convert them into production and product specifications, in close cooperation with the quality manager
    • You are responsible for daily plant operation
      • Achieving production output to supply customers on time
      • You are responsible for safety, environment and quality
      • Achieving the KPIs within the agreed budget (safety, quality, OEE, personnel, maintenance)
      • Drawing up production and raw material planning
      • Implementing and securing production methods and standards
      • Proper operation, technical condition and maintenance of the installations
      • Make measurements and results visible and discuss them with employees during daily, weekly and monthly meetings
      • Solving production problems and determining priorities of your team
    • You are responsible for the personnel
      • You coach, motivate and support your team in the execution of their function.
      • You are responsible for good communication within the plant
      • You ensure optimal staffing in consultation with shift leaders.
      • You will be involved in HR processes such as recruitment & selection, reception, follow-up absenteeism
      • Responsible for knowledge development employees, training and education
      • Responsible for evaluations of your team.
    • You continuously strive  for improvement
      • Executing the vision of the group and giving direction to the teams.
      • Create an annual "Operational Excellence Plan" with operational and financial final results
      • Steering and coordinating investments and improvement projects in the field of safety, quality and production process
      • Applying "Lean Management techniques" : Standardization, eliminating waste, 5S, Visual management, ...
      • Making process analyses, variation analyses, trend analyses
    THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate:
    • Technical Master's degree or equivalent through experience
    • At least 5 years of experience in an industrial production environment
    • Extensive technical knowledge and insight in the field of production processes – experience with plastics is a plus
    • You have a coaching approach and are a team player
    • You are hands on and result-oriented
    • You are strong in planning and organizing, you know how to set priorities and dare to make the necessary decisions.
    • You have a smooth IT knowledge (Word - Excel - ERP systems, MES systems ...).
    • Fluency in Romanian and English are a prerequisite
