Data Engineer

Overview:

LCH SA is a leading European Clearing House. Based in Paris, it is part of the wider London Stock Exchange Group.
LCH SA has launched an IT transformation program called SUSTAIN. This program is divided in different streams addressing architectural, operational and infrastructure changes. One of these streams is dedicated to the new Data Repository of LCH SA. The objective is to have a new, centralized, and secure way to manage the data. This new platform is developed at the Post Trade division level and based on the cloud technology Snowflake.

Main Responsibilities:

• As a Data Engineer for LCH SA you will be a key operational and hands-on engineer delivering business tenancies for LCH SA as part of the data platform strategy execution across all areas of the business.
• You will work closely with other teams, especially the London core team in a multi-functional set-up.
• The Data Engineer will be an experienced data professional to help develop and support this Data platform for LCH SA.
• The role will work on developing and supporting the AWS & Snowflake based cloud data platform as well as helping to support and migrate data from legacy platforms.
• This is an opportunity to play a key part in the roll-out of a new cloud-based data platform and the role would suit an ambitious individual keen to develop their skills and knowledge.
• You will act as a member of the SUSTAIN program and the Data Management Office of LCH SA, work with the product teams to design and implement modern, scalable data solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies contributing to innovation in the data space.

Required skills:

o Design and development of automated data pipelines and data structures
o 3+ years hands on data engineering experience for data warehouse solutions using Snowflake, SQL, dbt, ELT, Spark, Python or equivalent (Java/Scala), Airflow
o 3+ years working with Agile Delivery teams (Scrum, Kanban) and a knowledge of DevSecOps & SRE principles, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, JIRA
o Data platform operations and automated testing
o Event stream processing experience (Kafka or similar) and experience in building event-based
services
o Support our transition from on-premises solutions to our cloud first strategy (AWS & Snowflake)
o Up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development standard methodologies
o Demonstrable experience of ITIL processes within a 2nd/3rd line support environment
