Software Development Engineer Internship - Compliance Tech Team

Job Description

The Compliance Tech Team will support Amazon’s mission of offering the widest selection of products available, while protecting customers from recalled or unsafe products. The tools we will develop will have web-based user interfaces and will handle massive amounts of data. We will implement the workflows for specific business processes and the work allocation and prioritization based on business goals.

Internationalization will be an essential aspect to our systems as these would be used by the different operations teams around the globe and will target the products in all marketplaces. We will administer automated rule-based or machine-learning classifiers used to score the products and support the customers with appropriate suggestions for their business scenarios.

As a Software Development Intern, you’ll gain valuable experience by being active part in your own project conception, implementation, all the way to real-life deployment. You'll be guided by our engineers, have opportunity to ask lots of questions, make career contacts, and get paid doing it.

Basic Qualifications

• Object-oriented design and coding skills (Java and/or C++);
• Web development (JavaScript, MVC);
• Expertise with data structures, algorithms, and relational databases;
• Knowledge of Networking protocols;
• Good understanding of software architecture and design issues;
• Advanced level of written and spoken English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with Client Side Web Application development is a plus (AngularJS)
