Business Analyst with French

- Logical thinking
- Effective communication (in writing and orally; in a multicultural context; active listening and effective questioning)
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English and French
- Understanding of software development processes
- Previous experience in BA
- Certifications in the field of Business Analysis is a plus
- Industry expertise (Banking and Financial Services, Insurance) is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business or Economics is a plus

- Gather functional documentation from either the development team or directly from the client (functional architecture diagram, detailed functional specifications, use cases, screen mockups, source-to-target mapping files, user stories, requirement lists)
- Perform an initial assessment of the eligibility of the project for functional sizing, including identifying any non-sizeable tasks in the project WBS or in the technical estimate
- Organize and lead initial meetings with the project team to confirm the functional architecture, define the functional borders and decide on the sizing approach
- Perform the actual Function Points Analysis on the documentation received, using designated sizing tools (such as Excel templates)
- Present the sizing to the client’s designated Function Points Specialists, conveying company’s position clearly and persuasively
- Collaborate with the client’s Function Points Specialists so as to reach an agreement on the sizing, incorporating their feedback or justifying company’s position as the case may require it
- Point out difficulties encountered during the sizing and suggest delivery process improvements, ideally outlining benefits in terms of cost reduction or risk mitigation
- Track the project and sizing metrics in the designated tools
- Collaborate with other team members and occasionally review aspects of their sizings
- If the situation requires it, explain the nature, purpose and benefits of the FPA to stakeholders (developers, business analysts, team leaders, project managers)
