System Integration Engineer for BMW Infotainment System

HARMAN designs and engineers ​connected products and solutions for automakers, consumers, and enterprises worldwide, including connected car systems, audio and visual products, enterprise automation solutions, and connected services.

Mandatory Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience as a software developer / integration engineer
• 2+ years of working with Linux at an advanced level
• Experience with build / deployment automation (Jenkins, CruiseControl, Bamboo)
• Good English communication skills both written and verbal

Nice to have Qualifications:
• Yocto and Bitbake expertise and willingness to learn and improve through trainings
• Experience in building custom embedded Linux distributions
• Good programming skills in scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python or similar languages)
• Linux security concepts (Kernel image signing, driver signing)
• Source control systems experience (Git)
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations

Eligibility Requirements:
• Willingness to travel (0-20% of time) depending on the project necessities

You will be part of a team which has full responsibility for providing software which validates and tests the limits of the latest HW platforms used by the new generation of BMW Infotainment System.

Job Responsibilities:
• Driving system integration of low-level software stacks
• Creating and maintaining the build system for a custom Linux distribution including the hardware validation software packages
• Analysis of trouble tickets, steering actively the bug-fixing by technical coordination of all involved parties with multiple dependencies
• Perform code reviews
• Resolve inconsistencies in case of unclear technical requirements in the specification by direct communication with the customer
• Reporting to project management and customer
• Act according the standard
