Senior Test Engineer

Cmed Technology (Offices in Timisoara - Romania) helps research organizations meet the challenges of 21st century clinical trials. We are working to move clinical research to the cloud and we are looking for Senior Software Testing / QA Engineers to design automated tests for our HTML5, REST API connected apps that support clinical data capture, quality assurance, analysis and reporting.

The role

This position is for an experienced and versatile Test / QA Engineer to work as part of our global team to define testing strategies and design effective automated and manual tests for our rich client Web Apps that support the clinical research and development of the next generation medication.

Responsibilities
 

• Perform all testing activities and provide initiatives across one or more assigned projects, utilizing testing processes, techniques, and tools
• Design testing strategies for optimal feature coverage in complex Web and Mobile / Apple iPad applications
• Assess risks and decide the extent of testing needed
• Write automated test scripts in Gherkin language (BDD) for multi-browser & mobile testing with Selenium on SauceLabs
• Design manual test cases to cover software requirements
• Perform reviews and update / maintain existing automated test scripts and manual test cases
• Test Web apps, report the software defects, keep track and make sure that Software Engineers are aware of them throughout the SDLC
  Report on test execution results
• Highlight and report blocking issues
• Configure and maintain the test environment and tools
• Contribute to and provide feedback on the product documentation and the associated processes 
• Mentor or train team members

Minimum qualifications
 

• 5+ years’ experience in software testing
• Technical degree
• Good understanding of software testing principles and commercial development languages, tools and practices
• Strong oral and written communication in English
• Familiarity with bug tracking, test management and collaboration tools
• Good attention to details
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience in writing automated test scripts and manual tests cases
• Experience with functional, integration, user acceptance and regression testing
• Experience on Linux / Unix platforms
• Familiarity in testing web apps
• Self-starter / self-directed member of the team
• Enthusiasm for technology
• Professional, motivated and with a positive attitude
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with technical and non-technical people
• Proactive thinking (ability to think outside the box) and detail oriented
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with dynamic requirements

Preferred qualifications
 

• Familiarity with next generation Web / HTML5 technologies
• Familiarity with jQuery / CSS selectors and Google Chrome web debugging environment
• Familiarity with testing Apple iPad apps
• Experience of testing in an Agile environment
• Experience with virtualisation software (Oracle - VirtualBox, Linux KVM)
• Familiarity with Cloud environment / Distributed Architecture / SaaS models
• Familiarity with revision control tools (Mercurial)
• Familiarity with RESTful applications
• Experience in leading projects
• ISTQB certified
