UC Tools & Monitoring Engineer - 2nd Line Operations

What you need:

- Past experience configuring/working with monitoring platforms, configuring alarms via SNMP etc.
- Functional UNIX knowledge and experience, any distribution.
- Sripting know-how (understand already built (sometimes old) scripts, perform light changes, create your own). Any programming knowledge will be a plus.
- Networking knowledge, CCNA R&S and above preffered.
- Functional VoIP knowlege & prior exposure required. (SIP/RTP etc)
- English profficiency, spoken and written.

Vodafone is looking for a Tools & Monitoring oriented Enineer to join an already established 2nd Line VoIP Operations team, based in Bucharest.

You will primarly work to improve the internal operational tools, alarms and KPI’s. You will work on alarm logic and configuration, explore, test and implement new features as well as perform regular system maintenances.

You will work with the operations team to optimize and remove redundant alarms, install new alarming/monitoring software & probes, join strategic call and contribue to the future of the serivce.

We are a Voice over IP/Networking oriented team providing technical support for large enterprise customers such as Panasonic, McLaren, Honda and others.


Main responsibilities :

- You will verify and improve a number of already operational monitoring and packet capturing platforms.
- Create new alarms based on current needs as well as modifying existing thresholds.
- Get involved with the various platform vendors, research new features, implement once possibile.
- Participate to weekly meeting and vairous improvement initiatives for both our teams and our customers.
- Keep the monitoring and alarming documentation up to date.
