    Job Description

    What you'll be working on:

    • The Local Data Protection Coordinator (LDPC) is the local contact person for data protection at multiple Continental locations in Romania;
    • The LDPC functions as the contact partner and consultant to the local management, employees, systems and network operators and has to gain a deep understanding of the local organization's structure, organigram and business specifics and interests;
    • The LDPC supports the Country Data Protection Coordinator, the Data Protection Officer and the Data Compliance Department to ensure compliance with the Continental Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) and any applicable national data protection laws to ensure a sustainable and reliable data protection framework;
    • The LDPC is timely informed on all processes/applications/products/services in which personal data are processed and involved closely in their local implementation, including with drafting, reviewing and updating local documentation and processes, as well as participating in audits and controls;
    • The LDPC is expected to proactively ensure compliance and raise awareness within the organization;
    • The LDPC is expected to travel to attend meetings and events in person regularly.
    Qualifications

    You'll be our match if you possess:

    • Knowledge of EU data protection regulations, and a minimum understanding of other major national data compliance frameworks and evolving legislation;
    • Knowledge of information technology and data management systems required.
    • The ability to communicate and interact, advise and argue effectively with people at all organizational levels;
    • Strong change and project management skills, including the ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
    • Ability to write clearly and prepare professional communications at least in English and Romanian;
    • Willingness to travel in Romania between different Continental legal entities a few times a year;
    • Law, IT or similar degree from an accredited Romanian university or equivalent experience; some qualification/certification in data protection (preferred).

    In addition, ideal candidates will also have experience:

    • Within a compliance, legal, audit and/or risk function, with recent experience in data protection. At least 2 years experience with GDPR and working knowledge of other national Romania data protection laws. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the relevant legal, regulatory and compliance issues and their practical application;
    • In implementing data protection management systems and in developing policy and data protection compliance training. Project Management experience and the ability to manage and/or coach multiple projects;
    • Working with teams across full corporate structure;
    • Working in international and virtual teams.
