NDT Inspector – Focus Forged Parts

A Snapshot of Your Day

Within the global purchasing organization, you will carry out NDT on components for generators, gas, and steam turbines independently and with the help of the supplier. In this role, you will carry out inspections in accordance with specifications and for the technical and formal review of the documentation. As a rule, NDT is carried out at suppliers' premises. In case finding deviations from supplier results, you are responsible for describing these clearly in technical terms, communicating them accordingly and clarifying further measures with the cross-departmental team.

It is possible for the NDT to be carried out automatically at the supplier's premises. In such cases, the recorded data is analyzed on the computer.

• Responsibility for the preparation, execution, and follow-up of non-destructive inspections on generator, gas and steam turbines components
• Supplier qualification, development and active participation in the quality improvement of suppliers and purchased parts
• Avoiding quality problems by developing preventive measures for suppliers
• Methods for quality assurance and analyzing the causes of defects and initiating appropriate corrective measures together with suppliers
• Implementation of preventive SQM methods and risk management in supplier-related processes, projects and products
• Initiation, control and active tracking of corrective and preventive actions for suppliers
• Proactive collaboration with a global team and internal partners
• Inspection of automatically captured forging records in various software applications (DEA, TomoView...)

• Completed technical education, mechanical engineering, or similar
• Certified to ISO 9712 or similar in VT, UT to at least Level II required, MT and PT desirable
• Several years of relevant professional experience in the NDT of forged components
• Profound knowledge in the application of quality methods such as 5 Why, FMEA, 8D, RCA
• Very good collaboration and communication skills required
• Confident handling of MS Office applications, SAP
• Great teammate, precise work, high level of initiative and flexibility
• Consistent and self-confident appearance
• Constructive collaboration across all levels of a global organization
• Business proficient in English
• Willingness to travel, nationally and internationally
• Preferable experienced with automated NDT on forged components
