Category Manager (Indirect) – Procurement Department – Bucharest

Vel Pitar detine mai mult de 20% din piata de paine feliata din Romania, iar oferta de produse se regaseste zilnic pe masa a peste 1.500.000 de romani.

• Develop & maintain deep expertise in indirect categories, e.g., market dynamics, supplier economics, SRM, etc
• Work with Supply Management Team to understand business needs/ requirements.
• For local categories, develop the overall category strategy incorporate business needs; ensure strategy aligns with the regional and global category objectives and ensure key stakeholders are aligned.
• Ensure the execution of the regional and local category strategies within the country.
• Identify and mitigate category associated risks.
• Find alternate and innovative ideas to provide business solutions, challenge the requirements to create a competitive advantage.
• Coordinate with the regional category team to establish specific category guidelines, KPIs, & best practice transfer
• Negotiate with suppliers/vendors to maximize value for the organization.
• Drive aggressive productivity and develop a pipeline of projects across all value levers.
• Ensure compliance to negotiated agreements throughout the P2P Process
• Drive supplier performance inclusive of quality, cost competitiveness, innovation, among others
• Attract, develop and retain talent.
• Ensure sustainability is part of the category management and sourcing process.
• Category and supplier risk identified and mitigating action plans in use
• On-going capability building for category team

• BA (MBA preferred) or related experience
• 5+ year strategic sourcing experience in indirect categories
• Category expertise – strong knowledge of the market, suppliers and cost drivers
• Bilingual English required
• Experience in managing suppliers & facilitating strong partnerships
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to drive insights from data to find opportunities to pursue
• Experience managing complex, high-value supplier relationships
