Business Controller

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be responsible for Business Controlling activities within Project Entity UK, working in support of the GT GS HV Grids business, working on major transmission infrastructure projects in the UK and Ireland.

Your daily work will include lots of collaboration with colleagues across all functions of the business, providing key support on Finance and Controlling related matters.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Cost center monitoring, controlling and forecasting for areas of responsibility, including deviations and corrective measures / actions.
• Monthly internal controls, with focus on analysis of the balance sheet
• Performing month end closing tasks eg re-allocation of costs, posting of provisions and accruals.
• Provide support with ad hoc reporting for various internal stakeholders.
• Supporting the calculation of overhead and labor rates and cost allocations annually
• Support with Hedging and Foreign Currency Control
• Providing information for internal and external audit requests
• Process improvements within area of responsibility
• Managing and continually improving productivity
• Potential development opportunities for a suitable candidate to get involved with activities across the whole Business Controlling Team, with a view to taking more responsibility from the Business Controlling Manager as the role develops.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field or relevant working experience (minimum 3-5 years experience).
• Experience of company accounting and controlling system including cost elements, chart of accounts, closing procedures
• Working SAP FI-CO experience would be an advantage.
• Newly qualified accountant, or studying towards, ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent would be an advantage.
• Experience of working collaboratively across multi-discipline teams and functions.
• Awareness of a compliance and internal controls framework
• IFRS knowledge
• Treasury principles (hedging and bank guarantees)
• Fluent in English
