RFQ-Expert - Procurement

Snapshot of your day

As an RFQ Expert you will focus on the tactical implementation of the procurement strategies defined in Corporate Commodity Management and based on the commodity strategy. You focus on internal customers and partners that cannot be successful without your contribution, timeliness and transparency. You work in a highly motivated team with a "doer" attitude where you help and support each other. You will solve short term/daily issues and create tremendous value for our factories and customers. In parallel, you will work with global commodity management teams to develop and implement long-term improvement and development projects. You will become an expert in tactical execution, acceleration and supply chain performance management.

How you can you make an impact

• Work closely with global and local commodity managements and manufacturing sites to achieve maximum effectiveness in planning, aligning and executing sourcing activities.
• Responsibility for cross fleet and cross product family parts.
• Identifying the best sources of supply for direct material (based on: quality, pricing, leadtime) for our customers purpose.
• Drive the supplier relationship by collecting comparable, alternative quotations as possible.
• Obtain quotes (RFQs) by collecting and applying relevant data like Approved Vendor list, drawings, specifications, and checklists.
• Uploading the final the quotes in the ERP system and maintaining the necessary information like prices, lead times and supplier part numbers.
• Supporting critical customer projects by communication with operational procurement and the order management team.
• Making award decisions for suppliers base on qualification status
• Negotiating and identifying cost saving opportunities and answering pricing related questions to internal business partners.
• Strong support of the negotiation process by providing timely the best price base on alternative quotations from the suppliers.
• Continuously monitor and track requests created, create and update purchasing information records (PIRs)
• Work closely together with the engineering team on obsolete materials to find possible replacements.
• Continuous improvement of the inquiry processes.

What you bring

• Completed studies in the field of business administration, (industrial) engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable.
• Several years of professional experience in purchasing
• Ability to communicate and work in a team, flexible approach to work
• Business fluent in English (German is a plus)
• Confident handling of SAP (purchasing modules) and common MS Office applications
• Planning and organizational skills, pragmatic, solution-oriented approach, hands-on mentality
• Willingness to engage in an exciting environment and challenging projects, which will be routed in traditional power generation as well as decarbonized solutions.
• Strong professional support and working with colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds all around the world.
• Capability to negotiate and to operate in different cultures.
• Ability to facilitate and cultivate a cooperative approach beyond your own organizational unit & function.
• Willingness to be part of a growing function with a dynamic, informal, and inspiring working environment in a position that entails a large responsibility
