Senior Android Developer

HARMAN designs, engineers and produces solutions for car manufacturers, consumers, and enterprises worldwide, including connected car systems, audio and visual products, enterprise automation solutions and connected services (IoT-solutions).

Basic Qualifications:
- Technology Enthusiast with 7+ years of overall work experience (Automotive infotainment domain is required);
- Hands on experience on working with Android applications and frameworks;
- Excellent programming skills in Modern Java and C++14/17 under Android environment;
- Knowledge in inter-process communication, threading and synchronization
- Good English communication skills both written and verbal;
- Excellent OOD skills with hands on experience in designing applications, middleware, business logic, Statechart models;
- Excellent problem solving skills with good experience on using system analysis and profiling tools for debugging and performance optimizations;
- Excellent communication and coordination skills while working in multi-site environment;

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations;
- Unified Modeling Langauge Knowledge;
- Knowledge in agile software development methods (SCRUM);
- Use tools to evaluate to test and tweak wireless products, such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, virtual private networks (VPNs), and network amplifiers, among others.

Good-To-Have Knowledge:
- Experience in automotive industry;
- Knowledge on the Phone Projection technologies are added advantages;
- Android Framework and NDK knowledge is added advantage;
- Atlassian tools (Confluene, Jira, Stash).

Position Summary: Senior Android SW Developer for Connectivity-Online domain
- The Senior Android SW Developer will be part of a team responsible for developing software in the Connectivity-Online team for Next Generation High-end Embedded Infotainment Systems.

Job Responsibilities:
- Develop software components (Android / Java / C++) and UnitTests;
- Review Software specifications, contribute to Architecture and Design documents;
- Analyze customer specifications; develop components architecture based on this information;
- Resolve inconsistencies in case of unclear technical requirements in the specification by direct communication with the customer;
- Make functional testing of developed source code, participate in code review sessions;
- Act according the standards of the automotive industry and in-car applications and software development processes;
- Assist the hardware team in debugging: provide measurements on the provided boards, prepare test scenarios;
- Create and maintain code design documents on high level and/or component level;
- Act as a mentor and support development the less experienced colleagues in the team.
