    Family allowances 

    Depending on your contract type, you may be entitled to family allowances, including dependency allowances if you have an eligible dependent spouse and/or child(ren) and, under certain conditions. 

    Holidays and leave 

    Depending on your contract type, you will be entitled to 18 to 30 days of vacation per year. In addition, staff members have the option to take periods of Uncertified Sick Leave for up to 7 working days during an annual leave cycle for non-certified medical issues and/or family-related reasons.

    Staff is eligible to participate in one of the United Nations-sponsored medical insurance plans, which include dental insurance. The monthly premiums are co-shared by yourself and the Organization. 

    Retirement pension 

    If you have a staff appointment of six months or more or complete six months of service without interruption, you become a participant in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. A compulsory contribution will be deducted from your monthly salary.

    Senior Field Associate G7 (Fixed Term Appointment) 

    • Undertake regular visits to various sites to assess the needs of persons of concern, with particular attention to vulnerable groups. 

    • Advise the supervisor on programme requirements and formulate project submissions, including community development and self-reliance activities, where applicable, in collaboration with authorities and implementing partners. 

    • Monitor and supervise the implementation of the UNHCR programme including the delivery of all assistance items and monitoring of infrastructure and make the necessary recommendation for its improvement. 

    • Keep regular contacts with local authorities and implementing partners as requested by the supervisor. 

    • Act as an interpreter when required. 

    • Contribute to the preparation of status and progress reports by providing info, preparing tables, etc. 

    • Monitor refugee movements related to repatriation and other inter-camp transfers. 

    • Inform and act on the reports received on persons of concern within the refugee community or from the local authorities. 

    • Handle, in coordination with implementing partners, the reception, registration and provision of assistance to persons of concern to UNHCR. 

    • Negotiate with local authority counterparts, partners, and populations of concern.
