We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Compliance Advanced Analytics team and play a key role in our data-driven strategy in Compliance area. The goal of compliance analytics is to shape or meet specific business needs and goals for Know Your Customer, Anti-Money Laundering or sanctions compliance professionals, by building data products to extract valuable business insights. This role brings an excellent opportunity to develop interpersonal and technical skills and contribute to a fast growing field.

How you will contribute

• Machine Learning models development / validation / performance monitoring
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
• Visualizing information and developing reports and dashboards based on the results of data analysis
• Participate in collaboration with involved business lines in creating specifications, ensuring proper documentation for reports/dashboards/monitoring solutions/ models to be developed;
• Support in achieving one of the main objectives of Compliance regarding work streams optimization by fine-tuning rule-based scenarios ( e.g : Fraud or AML area);
• Provides support and post-implementation maintenance to various users within the Compliance in the use of visualization / reporting/ monitoring solutions;
• Act as an important interface between Compliance Division and other departments such as IT ( within BCR and Erste Group), facilitating the exchange of technological expertise and fostering analytics partnerships.

• A degree with strong fundamentals in mathematics or statistics or computer science or other related fields;
• Understanding of machine-learning or predictive modelling;
• Very good statistics knowledge;
• Knowledge of SQL and Python ( any other experience in using scripting programming would be a plus);
• Experience using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Cognos) and data frameworks (e.g. Hadoop);
• Ability to build reports/ analyze patterns and provide actionable date insights;
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data;
• At least 3 years of experience in any data science/statistical analysis role;
• Fluent in English.
