FIXED INCOME TRADER

Career opportunities and challenges within First Bank SA – Trading & ALM Department within Treasury & Financial Markets Division Fixed Income Trader Qualifications & experience:

• Bachelor Degree in Economics or Mathematics;
• Master in Economics/Finance or Business Administration would be a plus;
• ACI certification or CFA charterholder would be a plus;
• Working experience of at least 2 years in financial markets (treasury, asset management, capital markets, pensions or brokerage);

• Very good command of English;
• Very good analytical skills, organized and able to perform under pressure;
• Very good PC skills; knowledge of working with Reuters and/or Bloomberg terminals
• Proactive and innovative, sales & goal oriented;
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
• Communicative and with negotiation skills, client dedicated;
• Trustful and loyal, enjoying working in teams, high ethical standards
• Understanding & able to analyse macroeconomic & financial data and events

• Manages the FI portfolio of the Bank, regarding:
  • Investment: choosing the best investments from fixed income instruments the FI Desk is allowed to work with
  • Trading: participating actively in secondary markets;
  • Hedging of balance sheet items
• Monitors market conditions and reports any situation that may significantly affect the Bank’s profitability.
• Cooperates closely with the MM/ ALM Desk on funding, liquidity management, hedging and other relevant issues
• Respects Trading limits
• Provides pricing to the Treasury Sales and Private Banking Departments for the FI products offered to the Bank’s customers
• Develops the infrastructure of the Desk, also by initiating projects with the Business & Product Development Department whenever necessary
• Prepares reports on the FI P&L, Portfolio size and structure, as well as other reports on a daily, monthly or yearly basis,
• Provides macroeconomic estimations upon request to various structures in the Bank
