Network Design Engineer

Role purpose: Drive virtual security infrastructure network engineering and evolution according to Group Technology Security policies. Address Local and Group marketing needs in the area of Security. This includes analysis of the requirements, evaluation of the impacts, design and dimensioning of the solution. Ensure NFV security architecture, will be able to cope with business and technology evolution. Liaise with the other design teams to ensure security needs are delivered through existing or new network elements and where ever possible pursue aligned solutions. Provide technical guidance and assist execution teams with live issues and assure quality software releases on the security network elements. Key accountabilities and decision ownership [max 5]:

• Solutions Design: define, design and dimension solutions to cope with requirements on the Cloud Security and integrity area
• Investigating and correcting specific security issues found in one or several of the Europe data core networks
• Analysing important limitations of data core design or functionality affecting the network integrity and identifying ways to improve them either from vendor/functionality or design/architecture point of view
• Assist internal customer in fully understanding the security requirements to ensure their requests are delivered correctly on the first attempt.
• Active push and coordination of benchmarking activities across the networks to support knowledge growth and best practise spread of issues/topics affecting network security and integrity

• Good knowledge and experience with IP networks security, as well as exposure to the engineering and management of security systems such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, PKI, user access management and content filtering;
• Specific knowledge on security aspects and critical points of mobile data networks
• Good Knowledge of IP Networking standards and related protocols
• Strong focus on engineering and architecture of NFV/SDN security solutions
• In-depth knowledge of data centre infrastructure, cloud, virtualization architectures and operational processes
• Cloud Security architecture and design (IT and Telco)

• Solid knowledge of NW design / architecture and CORE NW experience
• Good knowledge on Firewalls, VPN concentrators and IDS/IPS technologies
• Good Knowledge of main virtualization technologies
• Good Knowledge of IP Security best practices (CCNA Security/Cyber Ops certification is a plus).
