QA Performance Engineer

The Performance Engineer champions specific area of the testing process such as test automation, performance testing, test environments/architecture and test data provisioning.
The Performance Engineer works with the test team to develop testing strategies and devise test plans in order to ensure that applications meet business non-functional requirements and maintain Deutsche Bank's high quality standards.
The Performance Engineer must possess or demonstrate Solution Architecture Design experience.

As a Performance Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

• Participate in the hands on test creation / execution / analysis and reporting of non-functional testing activities.
• Writing and ownership of test plan including effort estimation, test cases, test data and environment setup.
• Work on tasks identified in the testing strategy and plan and will coordinate with all team members, including vendors.
• Identifies and classifies risks as they arise and follows plan for risk response and mitigation
• Conducts Proof of concept using technical tools and evaluates ROI and feasibility studies.
• Providing input to the project plan/release plan, defect/change management processes, systems integration, testing tools and processes.
• Documents test summary and provision of product improvement suggestions. Communicates the results.
• Challenges the ‘status quo’ and influences key stakeholders to ensure industry best practice is adhered to within their area of expertise.
• Cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with stakeholders and clients by articulating the contribution, commercial impact and benefits of expert roles.
• Manages key stakeholder expectations and delivers against agreed standards
• Designs innovative, sustainable solutions which are congruent with the strategic direction of the Bank
• Defines and implements best practices, solutions and standards related to their area of expertise. Tailors process/frameworks/tools aligned to the business area needs.
• Displays robust knowledge of change management tools and techniques to support stakeholders throughout the change curve
• Builds, captures and manages the transfers of knowledge across the Professional community. Mentors individuals across the Bank who wish to follow an expert career path through sharing their experience, expertise and insight.
• Functions as quality assurance resource on all aspects of product or services delivery

As a QA Performance Testing Analyst your skills will include:

• Specialise in relevant tools such as HP Performance Centre, HP LoadRunner and HP Analysis.
• QA Automation experience, preferably with Java
• Good SQL knowledge
• 5+ years of experience in software development, testing and support with minimum 3 years in hands-on Test Automation / Performance;
• Strong experience in software development processes, models, lifecycles and methodologies, with particular emphasis on Agile methodology;
• Excellent skills in Test planning, designing, and test strategy/case/script creation and execution;
• Able to balance scope, quality, effort, schedule and risk at all times
• Experience with integration & regressions testing and coordination with supporting systems;
• Experience with application development and multi-platform architectures;
• Knowledge of white/black box level testing, system and performance testing of applications using industry standard practices and tools;
• Experience with defect and change tracking, producing performance metrics
• Ability to influence and indirectly lead / provide thought leadership on subject matter specialism.
• Customer and service orientation to support interaction with team resources and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of people and achieve results.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Performance Troubleshooting of Front / Middle / Backend layers
• Continuous Integration: TeamCity or Jenkins
• Usage of test management tools: Jira, ALM
• Linux shell
• Experience with Monitoring tools (Geneos or similar)

 Education / Certification

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with an IT-related concentration (or equivalent diploma/work experience)
• Participation and/or completion in Testing certification programmes (Six Sigma, ISTQB, ISEB or tool specific certifications).
