QUALITY ASSURANCE ANALYST

• Interpreting business and technical requirements and ensuring that the software meets specifications;
• Writing functional and non-functional test plans. Designing, documenting and executing manual test cases;
• Diagnosing issues back to their root causes in a complex, multi-tiered complex environment;
• Providing detailed reports on bugs, issues and testing activities;
• Deploying application components;
• Validating release notes & operational upgrade procedures.

MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Confirmed experience in quality assurance;
• Experience in testing on client platforms (iOS/Android/Web);
• Experience in testing on server platforms (REST API, Java);
• Extensive experience in business analysis, developing test plans, test estimation, and test case writing;
• Experience in functional testing: subsystem, system and regression;
• Experience in non-functional testing: performance, stress, load, and high-availability testing;
• Technical experience in supporting/testing a Java-based enterprise application;
• Ability to perform level 1 and 2 investigation of defects/issues;
• Ability to create and read network logging information (tcpdump, wireshark);
• Strong understanding of HTTP and REST APIs;
• Familiarity with Unix command line tools;
• Experience with test and defect management tools;
• Ability to write acceptance criteria for features in simple business language;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to travel to local customer sites (40%).

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

• Experience working in an Agile development environment;
• Familiar with Java, along with object-oriented design, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns and mock objects;
• Expertise in at least one scripting language (JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby);
• Experience with Selenium Webdriver, Appium, Fitnesse, JUnit, and JMeter, or Tsung;
• Experience with Make files and Ant build scripts;
• Experience in developing and executing automation test scripts;
• Knowledge of modern best practices for professional software development including source control management, build processes, testing, release management, and operations.
