ROLE PURPOSE:
• The role is responsible to build, develop and continuously improve an Engineering function in TSSR, supporting various Vodafone verticals, with a focus on Enterprise Products & Services, while ensuring the operational quality of service as well as optimal cost of service delivery.
• To that extent, the Engineering Manager is responsible to define the best balanced resource mix for engineering (architecture, design, development, testing, deployment) activities. The role is responsible to ensure the implementation of scalable processes and continuous development of the workforce.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Define and manage the Engineering resourcing skill mix
• Manage the cost of service delivery by:
- Continuous learning & development
- Continuous improvement
- Standardization
- Consolidation
• Implement/exceed SLA objectives and KPI
• Lead & direct engineering teams supporting diverse technology areas, both within IT & Telco (project management, architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, process management, etc).
• Coach & develop teams towards a culture of engagement and ownership in international service delivery.


REQUIREMENTS:

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Deep understanding of solution life cycles, from business requirements to deployment and operations
• Experience in establishing new functions within a multi-cultural environment
• Experience in managing large teams and departments and managing managers
• Customer focused
• Ability to work in an international organisation with matrix structure
• Budget management and financial acumen
• Proven track record of optimizing delivery
• Previous technical experience in at least two of the managed areas
• Previous experience on Project & Transition management with methodologies defined in line with PMI.
• Proven track record of IT Process re-engineering.
• Well-developed coordination & leadership skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate and inspire others, able to deal with customers and employees.
• International experience and background in a complex business environment essential as well as ability to work across distributed team in a complex business environment

Language requirements:
• English (B2 or above)
• Any other foreign language an advantage.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• Education: B.E. / B.TECH, Preferred Post Graduation in Technology / Management or equivalent.
• Business: Exposure to senior international Technology management
• Certifications such as PMP, Prince 2, TOGAF, ISTQB, ITIL Service Design, etc

Budget owned: Responsible for OPEX budget of a department of 100+ people
