Skills, Knowledge & Experience

University degree (Business IT, Computer Science)
-Knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL
-up to 1 year of Database Administration experience
-Optionally: Windows Server 2003/2008, Shell scripting
-Good English skills
-Commitment, stability, responsibility

The role reports into the Development Team Leader.

The successful candidate will be a motivated individual with a desire to achieve exceptional results in the financial software industry. We are looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude, who enjoys being a contributing member and who thrives on the challenges that working in a fast-paced dynamic environment can bring, someone who can dive in and help us to release outstanding software.

You will be first trained to our product and domain, to our methodologies and to our processes through training sessions, exercises and then through Care & Maintenance activity.

You will work closely with the team members to support the development team environments and execute DBA tasks on databases maintained in the development environment. Integrated in a team under responsibility of a Team Leader, coached by senior database developer/administrator, you will work closely with Development teams across our different centers around the world.

The Role:
As an Associate DBA you will support the development environments for Misys products, help resolve issues raised on the existing scripts, provide support in the creation/optimization of new DB scripts by the development team, support the internal tool used for DB Admin, all under the advice and supervision of a senior DB developer/admin.

Responsibilities:
As a member of the Development team your responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Install and upgrade Client and Dev databases
- Prepare and review SQL and PL/SQL scripts
- Support network administrator with database administration of internal IT systems
- Create, review and modify database structures
- Enroll users and maintain system security
- Back up, replicate and restore databases
- Help with system administration, configuration and troubleshooting for Misys applications servers and components
