Desired Skills and Experience

University degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience
Knowledge developing and debugging in a large-scale web-applications context; deep knowledge and experience of test methods and processes
Experience in software development and/or quality assurance/test automation, ideally in IT security
Skilled in programming and scripting (e.g. Python, Perl, Selenium, AutoIt, Java, PHP)
Ability to dissect and resolve complex issues / bugs quickly
Good working knowledge of Internet technologies/architectures, Unix/Linux environments
Agile development experience; independence, initiative, and organizational ability
Release management tools (e.g., Maven, Jenkins)
You’ve achieved previous success in a performance-critical application and API development environment, and can accelerate that success within Avira’s technologies teams
You love big data applications, especially in the context of solving large-scale, run-time problems that make Avira more amazing
Demonstrable interest in our problem-set and willingness to develop and evolve a new applications- and API-set in continuous release mode
A team player with strong communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills is key. Must also have a proven ability to develop vibrant working relationships at multiple levels

Job description

Plan, develop, and implement software testing strategies and quality standards
Select the automation tool-chains
Design test cases and conduct various software tests such as functional, regression, integration, performance & scalability tests for both front end Web UI functionalities and the underlying Services API functionalities
Automate the execution of test cases and results gathering to a highest possible degree
Work closely with the Engineering team to identify, characterize and resolve software issues in most efficient way
Ensure the documentation and communication of the test automation design and scripts
Report found issues through bug tracking system, effectively follow up and communicate test results
Actively participate in various reviews to ensure testability and overall software quality
Fault and risk management
