Senior Software Engineer for On Board Diagnosis

In our Control Technology - Base Systems and Controls Timisoara department, we develop solutions for powertrain car systems, the engines, but also for the electrification systems, and one of the main focus is to develop and integrate a strong Diagnosis mechanism for all types of the systems.

We are looking for an experienced Software Developer colleague to join our On-Board Diagnosis team in Timisoara. You will develop various On-Board Diagnostic Service functionalities like Error Management, OBD-Scan-tool-services and Garage and End of Line Tests. The developed solutions cover a wide area and are used by many European and Asian OEMs, including all types of engines and also a various cars and technologies, from internal combustion to full electric or hybrid cars. Every car needs a powerful diagnosis mechanism for its components, as electric cars batteries, inverters, or HV-Box or all types of actuators in standard engines. You will be joining in a wonderful team of worldwide experts in the On-Board Diagnostics field, working mainly with colleagues from Romania, Germany and France. In a large multinational team, we create the frame for your further professional and personal development, based on your performance and potential. This will give you the chance to learn and develop your competencies regarding diagnosis management systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze and review the software requirements;
• Build up the software design and test specifications, including Unitary Test, based on the customer requirements;
• Implement the code in C and debug it;
• Perform the software verification based on the test specifications;
• Integrate and test the integrated software components into the pilot projects;
• Support customer projects in case of problems; perform investigations on assigned functionalities;
• Implement the latest specific standards; implement and contribute to the new EMS3 architecture - AUTOSAR compatible;
• Cooperate within our international development teams and interface with our internal customers.

Tools used: C development Environment, Debuggers, Automatic Module Test generation (RTR/Tessy), dSpace signal generators, INCA, CANalyzer, Change/Configuration Management environment (IMS, Jira, GIT, Polarion).

Job Requirements:

• University Degree (it is an advantage to have graduated: Computer Science, Automation, Informatics or Electronics and Telecommunications);
• Minimum 4 years work experience in Automotive SW development;
• Very good skills on embedded programming, being involved in all development phases;
• Experience in Error Management and On Board Diagnosis will be a plus;
• Testing methods skills;
• Advanced "C" programming skills;
• Fluent English, German will be a plus;
• High communication skills;
• Organized and analytical person, attentive to details, rigorous, proactive;
• High quality and customer approach;

Automotive SPICE, GIT/Gerrit, JAVA will be a plus.
