    Role description

    Booking Holdings is looking for a Financial Controller to be part of our Finance and Accounting team at our delivery center. Booking Holdings will build technical expertise within these centers, referred to as 'Centers of Excellence (COE)' to serve various brands and entities within the Holding portfolio.

    The role will involve working closely with the Senior Finance Manager and other departments and partners (HR, Procurement, FP&A, Tax, etc.) in performing accounting, internal controls and financial reporting activities. The tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to tackle additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
    • Help, lead the monthly closing process for the CoE entity, including preparation of journal entries and accruals, intercompany transactions, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, detailed analysis and relevant classification, in accordance with US GAAP, local GAAP and compliance with both internal and external requirements.
    • Intercompany transactions: review of cost structure and calculation of service fees, estimations and actuals. Ensure accurate documentation for TP
    • Implement and supervise accurate use of cost centers and key allocations. Provide mentorship for corrective measures across the organization in case of errors and/or deviations
    • Own the budget preparation, review, analyze and report variances vs Actual results and communication with all partners
    • Provide support with external and internal tax audits and transfer pricing report, to ensure audits are completed timely and accurately. Respond to auditor requests in a timely manner
    • Contributes to growing business performance by preparing valuable analysis for decision making and cost optimization proposals and profit opportunities
    • Supporting the operations and development of the CoE finance function with a focus on standardization and efficiency, continuous improvement and automation, and quality.
    • Build, maintain and update procedures and work instructions for all activities performed
    • Identify and tackle issues in direct work to benefit the whole team
    • Be a phenomenal teammate and work collectively to adapt to change to our dynamic work environment
    Role Qualifications and Requirements
    • University (Accounting, Business, Economic) degree and/or post-graduate education (CECCAR/ACCA student/certification is a plus
    • Experience (5-8years) with financial statement analysis and/or auditing background
    • Statutory, regulatory and management reporting knowledge
    • Understand how financial documents are prepared, how the statements tie together, how to review financial documents, and understand auditor requests
    • Strong communication, accounting and analysis skills are crucial
    • Able to cope with dynamic and high change environment
    • Takes ownership for responsibilities with a positive attitude
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Proactive self-starter, resourceful with strong work ethic
    • Solution-oriented and result-driven
    • Capable of working independently as well as working in a team
    • Strong IT experience in financial systems, including SAP, is preferable
    • Fluent in spoken and written English
