Alexandra Beică, Talent Acquisition Manager at London Stock Exchange Group Romania, shares her work journey, how it feels to be part of The Group and gives insights on how the recruitment process is thriving during these difficult times.
 




My Story

 

I have joined London Stock Exchange Group in April of 2018. When I joined, there were about 10 of us present on site, part of the Recruitment team along with a handful of colleagues from UK which moved to Romania for a temporary period to implement the new Technology Centre in Bucharest.

 

I can say that my experience so far has been very fulfilling as I have seen this centre grow over the past 2 years from zero to over 200 colleagues and we continue to grow at rapid speed.

 

I am very proud of what we have built to date and very honoured to be surrounded by extraordinary colleagues who are driven but also know to have fun and who make being part of this organization an experience to remember.

 

 

Recruitment Plans for LSEG Romania

 

We are very driven to grow the Centre and to increase LSEG’s footprint in Bucharest. By the end of 2020, regardless of the current challenges we are all facing, we are looking to hire approximately 100 new colleagues, exceeding 300 colleagues in the local Hub.

 

 

Ongoing Projects & Job Openings

 

We are growing our local teams and although we have extended our operations in Romania across different areas, the areas that are growing the most are Software Development, Infrastructure, Corporate Functions and a new addition to the local landscape: Quantitative Research.

 

Along the standard full time opportunities that we have in Bucharest, we have also recently launched our Graduate program which allow us to attract students that are eager to experiment and further develop their knowledge and skills in the Financial Technology Industry and put in practice what they have learned during University.
 

 

Adapting during the Pandemic

 

We have taken a series of steps to adapt our processes and make sure that all our employees as well as candidates are safe and have all the support needed from us.
 

I am happy and proud to be part of a company and a team that was able to efficiently mobilize on all fronts in a very short period.
 

Also, I am happy to say that we have not seen any kind of drop in recruitment numbers or market desire to join London Stock Exchange Group during these times. Although we have encountered candidates who have expressed concerns while interviewing with us, we were able to adapt and find solutions for each individual case.

 

We have put together an onboarding plan which includes a day-by-day timeline to ensure that our new colleagues have a flawless onboarding experience. Our local managers, IT, Recruitment and our Learning and Development colleagues are all engaged in the efforts of offering a seamless onboarding process.


 

Tips & tricks for candidates

 

I highly encourage all those interested in joining the LSEG team in Bucharest to update their CV with the most relevant experience for the role they want to apply for.

 

Also, it is very important to prepare for interviews ahead of time, both technical and HR. This is the only time you get to convince managers and the HR colleagues that you are the one for the job.

 

We are looking for colleagues who are driven, resilient and eager to leave their mark on the projects and teams they are part of.
