Person Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with the following (7 years+ in majority of cases):
o Development
 SQL (Sybase or SQL Server) – writing complex stored queries, performance tuning
 Visual Basic 6
 C# - application development (not support) of server side components
 MQ
 Jira / Wiki / Sharepoint
 Perforce (or other source control)
o Platforms
 Windows XP / 7
o Industry
 SWIFT / Crest / Euroclear.
• Experience with the following Project Methodologies
 Waterfall
 Agile
 Test Driven Development
• Experience of global securities markets, broad securities settlement but particularly equities.
• Experience working with Front-Office, Middle Office and back-office business lines, as well as technology.
• Demonstrate experience in technical delivery of multiple small – medium size IT projects (few days up to 12 months)
• Ability to network and influence others without direct oversight and supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and negotiation skills and prepared to constructively challenge the status quo.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in either or both of Prime Brokerage and Equity Finance (Securities Lending)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and demands.
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations with tight deadlines.
• Ability to identify critical issues with ease.
• Exhibits confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving technology problems.

Main Function

The Developer role will work closely with the IT change agents and support teams as well as being responsible for technical design and development of assigned work, as part of a multi location team spread across India and the UK.

Main Duties

• Working with user and technology representatives to understand business requirements, functional specifications, to document technical specifications including the identification of any potential technical issues or omissions.
• Development / coding / bug fixing of assigned work.
• Close interaction with BA, test and support teams.
• Support technology best practice across the team.
• Production of mandatory project artifacts eg technical design documentation.
• Support for accurate and timely tracking and reporting of project risks, issues and actions.
