Linux/Chrome OS Development Engineer

Minimum Requirements:
-Bachelor's Degree and in Computer Science or equivalent 6+ years of experience, or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 4+ years of experience, or PhD and 2+ years experience

-Excellent knowledge of the Linux Software stack and Open Source environment. Proven experience contributing to Open Source projects and influencing within Open Source communities

-Minimum 4 years of hands-on C/C++ experience, knowledge of the Git version control system and experience in scripting languages such as Perl, Python, PHP and Shell scripts

-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated fluency in spoken/written English is required


Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies
- HTML5 experience, particularly with WebGL and WebRTC
- Experience doing profile-driven optimization of performance or power usage
- ChromeOS/ChromiumOS development experience
- Understanding of graphics & media application architecture
- Understanding of low level software Drivers and Kernel

The Intel Open Technology Center (OTC) is looking for skilled Open Source Developers to integrate Chrome OS with the latest Intel platforms and technologies.

You will be directly responsible for helping Chrome OS achieve maximum performance and minimal power usage, enable hardware support for new features in Intel CPUs, chipsets, and graphics, and come up with creative ways to make ChromeOS shine on Intel platforms, including novel uses of Intel technologies.

You'll be working with the entire Linux and ChromeOS stack, including the Linux kernel and drivers, Mesa, OpenGL, rendering, video, audio, and the Chrome browser itself.

Key roles & responsibilities include:
- Strong breadth of technical experience, with a vast mental index of possibilities and solutions
- Rapid ramping and learning on new technologies or components as needed
- Whole-stack responsibility for developing new features, from the kernel to the browser APIs and applications, and everything in-between
- Strong and rapid code reading/searching/forensics
