    Role description

    Booking is a growing organization that faces new challenges as it evolves. The Identity Team focuses on building and supporting internal application integrations, access and identity environments.

    The Junior Identity Engineer helps to administer, monitor and maintain the systems that manage corporate Identity, authentication and access for our employees across the organization in a secure, scalable way.

    Working as part of the Identity team, this role is responsible for helping to deliver a compliant and frictionless user experience for our colleagues, following the processes and guidance provided by senior team members and industry standards.

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Troubleshoot user account provisioning and authentication issues in all related systems (e.g. Active Directory, Okta)
    • Adhere to Technology processes, best practices, change management and incident handling
    • Work with vendors and applications owners to support integration of new tools and applications onto Okta SSO and provisioning
    • Act as an intermediary between IT Support and Identity team to resolve Okta and Active Directory related escalations
    • Proactively monitor related systems using all available tools to ensure issues are resolved before they impact our customers
    • Be responsible for ensuring knowledge transfer to IT Support happens in order to reduce escalations
    • Flag opportunities and help automate processes that would solve business problems
    • Communicate effectively within the team and bring ideas to team discussions
    • Show desire to keep up-to-date with IAM technologies and concepts, learn and absorb knowledge from outside sources and from working with seniors
    • Keep documentation updated and accurate
    • Participates in on-call rotation and out of hours maintenance where required.

    Role Qualifications and Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree
    • 1-3 years relevant job knowledge
    • You have a basic understanding of legacy and modern authentication technologies (e.g. API, LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth2)
    • You have a basic understanding of Identity lifecycle management
    • Experience in working with a range of 3rd party vendors
    • Basic understanding of enterprise Identity and Authentication management software.
    • You have a basic understanding of how automation can be used to solve business problems
    • You have a basic understanding of the different access control models
    • Experience in at least one scripting language (a plus)
