Chief Accountant

CHIEF ACCOUNTANT opening - 2 years contract (limited period) -  for one of our clients - an important global players in one of the segments of food & beverages industry, present on the local market for many years, selling through distributors on traditional and modern trade channels as well as special projects in local KA and gas stations. The CHIEF ACCOUNTANT will be in-charge of all accounting activities, organizing, coordinating and supervising the accounting department activity with 1 person under direct subordination, preparing the accounting reports and monthly/quarterly/yearly tax statements, statistics, financial and reporting statements, being responsible for carrying out the accounting activity in accordance with the legal provisions in force. She/He will: § Organize and coordinate the preventive financial control, establishing the operations and documents that are subject to preventive financial control, as well as the persons exercising this control § Ensure compliance with the provisions of the relevant internal procedures (procedure of travel, settlements, acquisitions, accrual, authorization of signatures) § Be responsible for guaranteeing a current and orderly reporting, monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual, of the conclusions, including all the analyses and comments necessary for the company, according to the legal requirements § Be responsible for compliance with the provisions of the tax legislation § Verify the registration of documents with the Romanian Trade Register § Propose the list of weekly payments in accordance with internal procedures and due dates § Ensure accurate records of the fixed assets of the company and supervise the reconciliation and closing of accounts § Elaborate the verification balance respecting the established deadlines, according to internal procedures § Elaborate the financial statements of the company (Local GAAP and IFRS) § Follow the observance of the payment terms of the obligations arising from the due dates to third parties; Work together with the team to identify and align accounting records with the reporting standards of the Group § Be responsible for the coordination of the company's fiscal activity § Review the registration of transactions in accordance with the requirements of applicable law. (invoices, registers, DVI, AIC, statements of account, expense statements) § Ensure the keeping and archiving of accounting documents according to the applicable legal requirements and in security conditions § Be responsible for drawing up and submitting tax returns and reports, respecting the terms stipulated by the applicable legislation § Be responsible for calculating and paying taxes and fees due to the state budget § Review the preparation of the monthly balance of stocks, suppliers, customers, the monthly verification balance, the general registers, as well as the balance sheet (semi-annual and annual) § Identify the risks in the area of responsibility and proposes solutions to mitigate them § Maintain contact with the state authorities and auditors and is responsible for the correctness and completeness of the documents Candidates Profile: The Chief Accountant we are looking for should have:

• minimum 2 years of previous experience in a similar role in a multinational company,
• a Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance/Accounting,
• extensive knowledge in statutory accounting, fiscality and taxes
• Very good knowledge of SAP, MS office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and fluency in English are mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of Local GAAP and IFRS, CECCAR or ACCA certifications are required.
