Senior Data Engineer

We've had a presence in Bucharest since 2014, starting with an acquisition of a small team of developers. By late 2016 we had expanded to 20 people and by the end of 2017 we had 40. We continue to invest in and develop our Romania presence aiming to double in size once again some time in 2019. 
Additionally, where we previously concentrated on engineering capacity, we have built a broader and deeper team extending to architecture, product design, and product management so we can have completely self-sufficient and co-located product teams.  

You have to bring these skills to the table:

5-7+ years of relevant experience

Strong Database background and Proven experience with:
Database administration
Data Modeling
SQL coding – query writing, debugging,
Schema definition, creation
DB Optimization for performance, scale
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills
Experienced with Linux and Unix, and -
Strong scripting background
Shell scripts
Other Linux scripting tools
Sleeves-up experience in testing your own code (or better yet, test-driven development methods)
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent

ou Will:

Join us to build, manage and maintain the company data warehouse that is designed to bring business value through sophisticated reporting, data mining and analytics
Develop the ETL pull/push/CDC technologies to populate big-volume OLAP and OLTP databases like S3, Redshift, Aurora, Postgress, as well as other cutting-edge technologies selected per requirements
Embrace the principles of data warehouse that is designed to bring business value through sophisticated reporting, data mining and analytics
Work in a cross-zones Scrum teams, informing requirements and design and seeing it all through to implemented code in production
Work closely with your peers, challenging their decisions and collaborating with them to optimize technical designs

It would be great if you also have:

Good mileage with Cloud services, primarily Amazon’s AWS
Used AWS DB Services: RS, RDS
Know Real-time streaming services such as Kafka, WSO2, etc
Understanding and background in Big Data concepts, BI, AI
Hands on with web technologies: NodeJS, JavaScript
Meaningful DevOps experience having deployed via CI/CD, automated configuration management, Docker containers and Kubernetes
