Your profile:
You have a degree in computer sciences and the drive to expand your horizons every day. Based on your extensive knowledge of Windows architecture and the PE file format, you will be able to make the right decisions when analyzing malicious software.

Your strong knowledge of scripting and programming languages like Python, C, and C# will help you develop new detection technologies and services to classify malicious threats automatically.

You are a team player, but you are also able to solve challenges independently thanks to your analytical skills.
Your high level of self-motivation will help you maintain focus.
Your good English skills will enable you to communicate proficiently with our international colleagues.

Position Summary:
Our team creates new technology used in Avira products that achieves the best detection and disinfection rates. As a Malware Researcher you will strengthen our international team to expose the nasty tactics of malware authors and to help us fight digital threats. Your ideas will be used as input to take Avira’s new detection technologies to the next level.
Your performance objectives:
Right from day one you will be a member of an international team of malware and security experts. During onboarding you will receive intensive training on how our infrastructure works, thereby improving your existing knowledge of different detection services and technologies.

After successfully completing your training you will analyze samples independently, including researching and developing new services to classify malicious threats and behavior automatically. All your decisions will have a direct impact on the behavior of Avira products on customer systems.

Your professional experience will help you to achieve all the objectives in projects which you are responsible for. Additionally, you will optimize existing processes to achieve maximum efficiency.
