    Overview:

    At LSEG, we are recruiting for a Director of Software Asset Management.

    Group Procurement is responsible for managing third-party supplier engagements, partnering with the business to drive performance and sustainable value from our supplier relationships.

    We aim to make LSEG easier and more attractive to do business with, and we consider our suppliers as a source of competitive advantage and total cost of ownership.

    We operate a business partnering and supplier relationship management (SRM) model, aligned to partner groups and spend categories, ensuring value through early and strategic engagement and insightful vendor spend analytics. The Software Asset Management capability forms a key part of managing our software suppliers, compliance and ensuring we get the best value from our software contracts

    Key Interfaces:

    • Category Directors and Head of Technology Procurement) and Group Head of Procurement

    • Other Category Managers - peers and Category Managers across broader Procurement team

    • Group Procurement Centre of Excellence and Shared Services teams

    • Business: supplier business owners and budget holders

    • Key partnering functions: Group Head of and functional technology leads across the Group, Legal

    Main Responsibilities:

    Strategic accountabilities

    • Lead an outsourced Managed Service Provider that interpret LSEG's software license agreements and identify rules, obligations, and product metrics to ensure compliance with all software licenses agreements and software usage through the production of Effective License Positions (ELPs)

    • Help set the business direction of technology asset discovery tools (currently BigFix, Flexera, Snow)

    • Lead across the business to ensure software contract compliance and performance between departments

    • Develop, implement, and refine software asset management policies, processes, and procedures

    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and developing regulations (such as DORA)

    • Implement Policy and Process in support of IT Asset Management (ITAM) program goals; promote the ITAM program (ServiceNow) and assist in setting program goals

    • Take an active role in achieving operational effectiveness

    Operational responsibilities

    • Oversee and resolve conflicts of technical data elements within the ELP to resolve license compliance

    • Provide coordination across technical and business units for signoff of the ELP

    • Coordinate with Technology Procurement for renewals, and new software contracts

    • Oversee and monitor software maintenance renewal requirements, coordinating with software owners on demand requirements

    • Provide technical expertise and support for projects and audits

    • Work with team leadership, business groups, and accounting staff to analyze and resolve complex issues associated with software licensing rights

    • Oversee the software license desk MSP, and help raise/resolve end-user issues with ordering

    • Ensure ideas and change are implemented in a timely manner, in line with business requirements

    • Support of a fast paced transformation programme

    Required Skills:

    • 5-7 Years in software audit or software consulting role, or leading software compliance function

    • 5-7 years in leading Managed Service Provider teams

    • 3-5 years in software vendor negotiations

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or 10 years applicable experience

    • IAITAM Certified Software Asset Manager certification or equivalent experience

    • ITIL, CISA, or CISSP certification or equivalent experience

    • Experience with FlexeraOne (including Snow Software)

    • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB module or equivalent

    • Experience with BigFix Inventory, or ILMT equivalent

    • Ability to analyze software discovery data

    • Advanced Excel skills

    • Knowledge of complex vendor software contracts, licensing terminology, and software licensing rights

    • Experience in conducting software vendor audits, understanding of risks of non-compliance

    • Proven results in software cost avoidance and savings

    • Strong financial knowledge, understanding of profit and loss accounts and balance sheets

    • Familiar and comfortable with intermediate IT tools, SAM and Procurement systems, ability to provide management information to assist sourcing and contract management process

    • Ability to build relationships, influence and act as an expert across the organisation up to Executive level

    • Coaching and mentoring others

    • Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and verbal)

    • Strong top-down critical thinking and the ability to produce compelling narratives to guide team members to sound decision-making

    • Ability to cut through complexity, be pragmatic and get things done

    Desirable

    • Experience/knowledge of working with near/offshore delivery centres

    • Experience of procurement and/or SAM in a Financial Services Regulated Environment, Information Services Companies; FinTechs; Multi-country organisations preferred

    • FinOps.org FinOps Certified Practitioner certification or equivalent experience

    • Hands-on experience of sourcing in a global business, across the full sourcing lifecycle, including negotiation, due diligence, purchasing, contract creation, contract management, ongoing supplier relationship management and contract termination
