    Role Profile

    We are seeking a Senior DevOps engineer to join the ForexClear IT Development team and grow and lead a new DevOps team in Bucharest. Our company is on a growth trajectory, we are beginning our migration to public cloud and the team needs to grow accordingly.

    The successful candidate should have a computer science / technically orientated degree and be able to demonstrate their previous experience working in IT with relevant skills in the domain of DevOps.

    Upon joining you will work on cloud whilst helping the team to support the existing DevOps automation and project deliveries so that our business continues to thrive and deliver its commercial goals.

    Role Summary

    • This is team lead role that requires someone who is both technical and hands on as well as having some managerial responsibility. We are looking to grow a DevOps team in Bucharest and the successful candidate will lead, recruit for and look after this team. They will be responsible for the day to day line management of the team. The responsibility for managing career progression and appraisals within the team will remain the responsibility of the overall DevOps manager based in London.
    • As a senior member of the team there is an expectation the role will encompass upskilling the wider team supplying knowledge, experience and ideas that will help steer towards and deliver best practices for both cloud migration and DevOps automation.
    • Assist the current DevOps team with cloud migration, automating infrastructure, tools and processes.
    • Help the team support existing tooling and infrastructure, ensuring the business can continue to successfully release new functionality and grow.
    • Demonstrate you are highly motivated to learn, solve problems and grow their skills. They will require excellent communication skills to work collaboratively both within the team and across the wider organization to deliver outstanding automation.

    What you'll be doing:

    • Learn our existing infrastructure, tools and processes and help the team support them.
    • Help improve existing tools and processes where required.
    • Support other scrum team project deliveries where they require assistance from the DevOps team.
    • Champion automation within the team and strive for improvement.
    • Help craft the design, architecture and build for our cloud migration.
    • Improve our CICD capability.
    • Help nurture and drive a zero-touch approach.

    Key Skills

    • Great communication skills.

    • Strong technical skills and automation experience.
    • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of technologies and/or subjective matter expert knowledge of a technology, advising others on design, development and implementation.
    • Contribute to the definition and build of best of breed automation solutions.
    • Manage own workload and promote an inclusive and open culture.
    • Public cloud experience ideally in AWS.

    Desirable Skills

    • Experience with Gitlab and building pipelines.
    • Experience with Anthos.
    • Experience with Jenkins, Ansible and Terraform.
    • Experience in DevSecOps and/or FinOps.
    • Experience with multiple cloud providers.
    • Experience working in a hybrid model (cloud and on-prem).
