    The Index Data Processing Platform (IDPS) is a program whose main purpose is to drive improvements across data collection, data management and data governance resulting in improved efficiencies, robustness, and the ability for our business to use our data as an asset by driving both cost savings and revenue opportunities. Some of the outcomes and benefits of this program include:
    Provides a single, centralized version of the truth/data including standardized logical and physical data model
    Data capabilities to build world class multi-asset indices and data & analytics services

    Role Description:
    We are looking to fill a Data Modeler role with a good amount of financial services and market domain knowledge and experience. This person will play an integral role in the ongoing design and build of the Index Data Processing Service. You will be involved in and responsible for data analysis, data model design, mapping, development, documentation, enhancements and maintenance of the data platform which will span a broad range of data and functionality. This position requires an innovative and motivated individual who, under general direction but with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to perform necessary data architecture and modelling tasks as well as make recommendations to meet the customer's requirements. While constantly driving innovation and working on complex technical challenges every day, this team member will provide subject matter expertise and technical direction, work closely with business users, BAs, PO's, PMs, Business Users and other team members to understand business requirements, design and develop quality data solutions that are aligned with the business and Platform strategies while ensuring compliance with the organization's architectural and coding standards. In this role, the data modeler will also be responsible for helping to troubleshoot complex support issues on an as needed basis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Detailed analysis of new data feeds and map to existing data model
    • Maintain and govern conceptual, logical and physical data model changes and ensure consistency across workstreams
    • Define and govern data modelling and design standards, tools and best practices
    • Assist with setting standards for naming, security and lifecycle/retention architecture
    • Be accountable for consistency and data modelling best practices across project teams
    • Define and maintain robust and scalable data models to manage data according to formal concepts, principles, and techniques
    • Facilitate and promote the design and development of high-quality data artifacts within the data architecture to meet current and future business data and information needs
    • Design and develop scalable, reusable data models in SAP HANA in line with architectural standards and best practices
    • Identify potential design, process and/or system changes to optimize performance and mitigate risks
    • Assist with the design, development, and implementation of enterprise information data models, data flows, data life cycle, and overall data management leading practices in a complex environment
    • Managing data as a critical asset across all of the organization's business functions
    • Work with functional specialists, understand business processes and translate functional specifications into technical requirements
    • Provide data guidance, roadmaps, principles, standards and best practices
    • Work together with developers, business analysts and product owners to ensure that new or modified HANA models are designed and developed using industry standard best practice design and development practices
    • Drive modern data design patterns, project methodologies and ability to design and document complex data models from concept through deployment
    • Work closely with technical team members to ensure technical knowledge is maintained and that project work can be accurately scoped
    • Design, develop and test data models and ensure that data is correctly loaded into the system
    • Researching emerging technology trends, new models, vendor solutions and market opportunities to identify potential industry disruptors that could help the organization dominate their position in the market
    • Proactively communicating data methodology, architecture, and results to a diverse set of partners


    Work Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience designing and implementing complex data solutions and models
    • 3+ years of experience creating logical, physical and conceptual data models
    • 3+ Years in IT, Data Analysis, data manipulation
    • Hands on experience with data modelling such as SAP Power Designer, Erwin
    • Expert understanding of data models, database schemas, and optimization in domain driven design
    • Optimization of SAP Hana database models a plus
    • Experience in data integration, modelling, warehousing and data management principles
    • Familiarity with data governance workflows and leading practices
    • Experience with SAP HANA Database architecture, development and technologies such as: ABAP, HANA CDS, Calculation Views, Tables, synonyms, sequence, triggers, table functions and procedures using SQL/PL SQL scripts a plus
    • Knowledge of SAP HANA Advanced Modelling (SAP HANA Text, SAP HANA Graph, SAP HANA Spatial, SAP HANA PAL) a plus

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or IT related field or equivalent IT related experience


    IT Skills:

    • Experience with complex business projects
    • Great attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and the implications of those requirements on current and future roadmaps
    • Proficient in SQL for data analysis
    • Understanding, at a detailed level, of all architectural dependencies of technologies in IT environments
    • Demonstrated behaviours of a curious, logical thinker and a strong systems aptitude
    • Proven ability to make and drive solution decisions
    • Experience with data migrations and coordination in a cross-project management team and business functions
    • Experience with performance tuning and optimization
    • Continuous Integration and source control


    Soft Skills:

    • Financial markets domain experience a must
    • Strong communication, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills
    • Able to self-manage and work independently in a fast-paced environment with dynamic requirements and priorities
    • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
    • Agile development processes (SCRUM and Kanban)
    • Experience with Jira a plus
