We are currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join the Merchant Solutions Development team at Worldpay. This position is Bucharest-based and aligned to the Worldpay University Program; a two-year scheme, suited to entry level joiners who aspire to develop a successful career with a leading payments company!

About the team
Worldpay is an international leader, the biggest in the world, in payments processing technology servicing all types of businesses – big and small, online and traditional retail outlets.
The company’s financial products include credit cards, ATM processing, merchant services, rewards and fraud prevention.
We are delivering online payment services to our customers and we are looking for Engineers to join our team to take it to the next level.
Operating within a collaborative Scrum environment, we aim to deliver effective solutions to the business and our customers using our evolving payment platform.

What you will be doing
You will work with the wider engineering team to bring solutions to challenges that require cross squad collaboration.
As a member of the squad, you will also have an understanding of the product and industry you are building for.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaboratively support and pair with other engineers in the team to grow the team’s capabilities, and ensure we are shipping quality changes.
• Collaborate with your fellow engineers from other squads to make decisions around technologies, patterns, and approaches to adopt

Who we are looking for
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or Software Engineering) or related fields
• Basic programming knowledge in Java and familiarity with Spring, Hibernate, Maven
• Good understanding of OOP principles
• Knowledge/practical application of agile methodologies
• Willingness and ability to learn, master, and work in both new and older technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• English Language – Fluent
• Passion and curiosity for tinkering and technology – cutting edge tech; you like hackathons and innovation sprints!
