IT Specialist - Backup

As a Backup Specialist (d/f/m), you will be responsible for managing and maintaining backup and recovery operations for our clients using the Commvault platform. You will be part of the global IT team and work closely with our different locations to understand their backup requirements. As part of your role, you will design and implement backup solutions that meet their needs. Together with internal and external teams you will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the backup infrastructure, troubleshooting issues and ensuring high levels of performance and availability.

Your new responsibilities:

• Design, implement and manage backup solutions using the Commvault platform for our clients
• Collaborate with clients to understand their backup requirements and develop backup policies and schedules
• Monitor and maintain the backup infrastructure, including backup servers, libraries, tapes
• Continuously evaluate new cloud-based technologies and tools to improve our backup infrastructure and processes
• Troubleshoot backup issues and resolve them in a timely manner
• Ensure backups are performed on schedule and verify the integrity and consistency
• Manage backup retention policies and perform backup restores as needed
• Work with other IT teams and with external service providers to ensure the backup infrastructure is integrated with other systems and applications
• Provide regular status reports and updates to our locations and management
• Collaborate with the security team to ensure our Backup infrastructure is secure and compliant with relevant standards
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks and processes

Your profile:

• Academic degree in Computer Science or a related field and 5+ years IT experience
• Several years of experience in backup and recovery operations, specifically using the Commvault platform
• Strong knowledge of backup technologies, concepts and best practices
• Commvault certification is a plus
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex issues
• Passion for the IT sector;
• Availability to travel occasionally;
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, fluent English is mandatory
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
