    Role description

    This new role in the Data & Analytics function within the Finance organization is a unique blend of business and data analysis. Senior Business Analysts will play a critical role in multiple projects such as one of the company priorities related to data migration, modernisation of the existing business processes over cloud environments etc. They will apply analytical and problem-solving tools to assess current business processes, understand problems, mapping with migration strategies and help migration teams and business stakeholders to clarify priorities and solutions for successful roadmap executions.

    The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for documenting and analyzing the organization's business processes, assessing the feasibility of alternative solutions and recommending new approaches to enable business improvement. The role also assists with the identification and remediation of issues, and/or implements improvements to improve effectiveness and efficiency leveraging data systems and analytical processes. He/She will also be responsible to perform pre-UAT data validations for the newly migrated/developed analytical services by running data quality checks across systems and finding data gaps and root causes of the issues in the data pipelines, partnering with business teams to design new or improved solutions to increase effectiveness and impacts.

    As a Senior Business Analyst, you will play a critical linking role between business stakeholders and data reporting & engineering teams to ensure teams are working towards a common and agreed goal for desired business outcomes.To be successful in this role, He/She should also be able to perform hands-on work to present data findings by creating dashboarding prototypes to stakeholders or perform data analysis to validate any complex business requirements or even support the business stakeholders team by performing some of the migration steps in close collaboration with the data migration team .

    Key Job Responsibilities and Duties

    • Analyze and understand complex user and business needs, including where processes are intertwined and drawn from multiple sources
    • Map complex processes and information flows into appropriate artifacts for communication with both stakeholders and the development/migration team
    • Lead and facilitate workshops to understand business needs, gather information and analyze requirements to develop use cases that reflect business outcomes and benefits.
    • Provide business analysis support for the preparation of detailed functional requirements and specifications and communicate these requirements to nominated decision makers to gain approval.
    • Understand the internal and external situation and environment, eliciting and managing any non-functional requirements.
    • Track, review and manage requirements with appropriate stakeholders to maintain records of traceability and prioritization.
    • Negotiate with and persuade stakeholders with a balanced consultative approach to ensure that the principles of user centered design are balanced against service requirements.
    • Write clear and concise user stories with clear and testable acceptance criteria for data teams to build
    • Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, and foster collaborative working.
    • Drive the analysis and collection of information including investigating issues and analyzing customer feedback and insights to create viable recommendations for service improvements that align with business strategy and user needs.
    • Develop end user training and/or process documentation as required. Coordinate with data and reporting teams to ensure data products deliver expected benefits.
    • Engage in the planning, preparation and execution of end-to-end business process testing activities.
    • Provide timely, high level advice to the Data Managers and Leadership teams on all aspects of business process analysis, reporting and related issues.
    • Builds the business case for making a change to current practices, programs, or procedures.
    • Partners with stakeholders on the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of business process changes to improve business outcomes.



    Role Qualifications and Requirements

    • 5-8 years hands-on experience as a data analyst or data engineer.
    • 3+ years of experience in leading a group of developer to build end-to-end data data products, such as, data ingestion, testing, transformation and data quality monitoring
    • Technical tooling experience
      • 3+ years hands on experience with SQL, python, PySpark or Hadoop
      • 5-8 years of hands on experience in reporting tools such as PowerBI, Tableau
      • Advanced knowledge on structured & unstructured databases such as hadoop, Snowflake, AWS S3 or similar
      • Knowledgeable about data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques is considered as plus
    • Excellent problem solving skills. Where you can identify and analyze complex issues and develop a clear approach to solving them
    • Very good analytical abilities - Able to interpret data and trends, diagnose problems, and recommend effective action plans to resolve issues
    • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and resolving ambiguity
    • Excellent interpersonal/communication and presentation skills
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently toward established goals
    • Ability to multitask, solve problems resourcefully, and work well under pressure
    • able to explain complex data problems, analyses and topics in concise, clear and simple terms
    • Able to use the big picture as context to impact and steer the technical and data relevant decision making
    • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and in a flexible environment
