Daniela, Accenture Corporate Functions
I joined Accenture more than seven years ago, as an entry level Recruitment Analyst for a BPO project. It was a great opportunity to learn about outsourcing, client expectations and change management. After one year, I was selected for the Recruitment team in the Enterprise division and I am proud to say that some of the colleagues I selected still work at Accenture and have great careers.
In December 2009 I wanted to make a career change and I took the role of Training Coordinator. Now, I am responsible for managing all the training-related activities, from creating the Training Calendar to administrative activities and reporting.
Speaking of reporting, the numbers illustrate best the training opportunities that are available: in fiscal year 2013, each Accenture in Romania employee completed an average of 38 hours of training. Beside the classroom trainings they also have access to an on-line training portal with more than 20.000 courses, and to a virtual platform that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and experience.
In addition to my role as Training Coordinator, I am a trainer for the “Presentation Skills” and “Assertive Communication” classes and I confess that this is one of my most rewarding responsibilities, as I have the chance to share my experience with my colleagues and to see how they are growing under my guidance.
The things I like most about Accenture are the working environment, the company’s respect for the individual and the people who inspire me every day. I also like that there is no room for monotony, because every day is unique and brings with it new challenges. So, if you are thinking about applying for a job at Accenture, don’t be afraid of challenges and change!
Dragos, Accenture Consulting
In my three years at Accenture I had a continuous professional growth: I joined Accenture in March 2013 as a Business and System Integrator Analyst, then, in my second year here, I had the opportunity to change my career path, and I moved to the Security Consulting Group. After almost another year, I was promoted to a Consultant position. These changes made me understand the things I now like most about Accenture: that it values and motivates its employees and that it creates new opportunities and encourages employees to take them.
In my day-to-day activities I interact constantly with the Accenture clients. This has several advantages, especially if you like travelling. So far, I had the chance to visit, for business purposes, different and interesting locations around the globe: Russia, USA, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Egypt, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Working at the client office will also bring some responsibilities, but if you like challenges, are a fast learner and easily adapt to different environments and situations, then you are a match for the Consulting area!
What I also like about Accenture is the PEOPLE I met here! Starting with my assigned Career Counselor, who guides through my career path and helps me when I encounter difficult situations and continuing with all the other colleagues who are amazing people. You will certainly have the chance to make a lot of friends. In my case, my project manager, with whom I have worked for more than two years on different projects, became one of my best friends.
Accenture is a great company, for me - the best consulting company. I believe the most important thing is for you to feel that you belong here, because that is exactly how I feel. Through its people and the core values that it promotes, Accenture makes you feel part of an international and multicultural family, with a lot of brothers and sisters to rely on.
László, Accenture Digital
I started my career as software developer 16 years ago. Later, I changed my role to software architect, then team leader, always gravitating around technological roles, "wearing many hats".
I joined Accenture through an acquisition in 2013. As a Software Engineering Consultant, I work mostly on MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) related topics, including blueprinting new projects, building up and sharing expertise in our teams and in various communities, mentoring new joiners and implementing proof-of-concepts and client demos. At Accenture, I gradually shifted away from full-time assignments and I worked my way towards the consultant role assisting multiple teams and projects at the same time enabling me to capitalize on the experience gathered from different projects.
Being part of such a vast network at Accenture, gives me the possibility to learn from my colleagues, to tap into an immense knowledge base, and get to know interesting people, while working on different assignments whether abroad or from home office as part of a distributed team.
What I particularly like about Accenture is the diversity of assignments I can get involved in, which bring very different types of challenges and let me develop on various levels. If you would like to become a successful colleague, beyond your hard-earned skills, you must have the willingness to continuously learn and develop yourself.
Find your call, take initiative, connect with your colleagues and pursue your goals!
Andreea, Accenture Technology
I’ve worked at Accenture since December 2012 and I am a member of a testing team for a project based in Amsterdam. We are responsible for the end-to-end testing of the Client Relationship Management program--and its additional systems--for an international telecom company.
What I enjoy most about working at Accenture is the cultural diversity. My assignment took me to the center of a complex, but welcoming, environment. Even if there are rules I can use to do my job in an efficient way, challenges occur all the time, so it is great that when I don’t have all the information, the colleagues in our international network can help me. The exposure to an environment of such variety can initially be overwhelming, but if you are open to the learning opportunities that appear, it is also very rewarding.
If you want a career at Accenture I recommend you be confident and prepared. It’s not enough to have the skills and abilities required in the job description, you have to make the most of the job – learn, ask questions and be open to new opportunities.
Monica, Accenture Operations
I joined Accenture in October 2010 as part of a new finance and accounting project. In addition to my operational activities, I got additional roles, such as Operational Excellence trainer, and that allowed me to share my knowledge and help others improve certain skills.
After two years, I decided to make a change in my career and I took on a Team Leader role on a Human Resources project and, since 2015, I am responsible for the DACH Territory inside the same HR Project. My responsibilities include coordinating the Team Leaders for Germany and Switzerland, offering support and guidance on complex project issues, ensuring that all team objectives are met while enabling continuous improvements, budgeting, client relationship and recruiting new talents for our teams.
As a team manager I responsible for the career development of my team members, so I am also a Career Counselor and I am guiding them on their career path.
Our growing business ensures career development opportunities for those seeking new challenges and this is something I really appreciate at Accenture.
