The COVE-WENDT project: Centre of Vocational Excellence in Welding and Non-Destructive Testing, aims to bring together the skills of teachers and trainers from existing VET centres, research institutes and universities, industrial companies from welding sector and other stakeholders from Quadruple Helix, to create an international network of CoVEs to support the European-wide skills ecosystems, aiming the following specific objectives:

O1: Extending collaboration partnership between the actors of Quadruple Helix for enhance innovation and co-creation in welding sector and allied technologies for local innovation and regional development

O2: Developing of an IT platform used as an international collaborative network for CoVEs from different countries to exchange best practices and disseminate new knowledge to promote excellence in VET

O3: Developing of innovative educational materials and provide relevant training programs for the green and digital transitions in the welding sector

O4: Improve the level of key competences of the VET trainers in developing and implementing of innovative approaches to tackle societal challenges, to foster innovation in education to increase the quality and effectiveness of existing CoVEs


CCIAT

The CCIAT - Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture Timis - from Romania actively collaborates with public administration institutions and regional structures to foster economic and social development at the regional level. The CCIAT supports the business community through public-private partnerships, organizing fairs, exhibitions, and economic partnership actions, and offering trainings and courses in various domains.

As part of the international consortium, CCIAT contributes to developing regional ecosystems of excellence in welding and non-destructive testing (NDT), aligned with the needs of the green and digital economy.


CCIAT’s Role and Activities

Regional engagement: CCIAT supports collaboration between companies, research institutes, vocational training centres, and universities to promote innovation in welding and NDT.

Events and dissemination: It organizes and hosts workshops such as “New Trends in the Welding Sector” (in partnership with ISIM Timișoara), where industry and academic experts share knowledge and innovations.

Innovation promotion: CCIAT took part in launching the innoCENTA International Festival of Innovation and Technology Transfer, an event aligned with the project’s objectives of fostering excellence and digital transformation.

Sustainability focus: It contributes to the development of a collaborative IT platform for the COVE network, ensuring long-term cooperation beyond the project’s duration.
